Eyewear Aviator Sunglasses

I started having trouble seeing distance while driving. I complained to my eye doctor, and long story short, ended up at a low vision specialist. She recommended these glasses to me for driving. She said they were better than buying a pair of prescription sunglasses, and was she ever right. These things are fantastic. These glasses cut down on the glare and allow me to see very clearly when I drive. Even when I just go outside, they are better than my transition lenses. My eyes don't dry out as much, and I am much more comfortable. It was a very pleasant surprise that they came with their own nifty heavy-duty case and cleaning cloth. They also came with a cord that allows you to hang them around your neck. All-in-all, these glasses are worth the higher price. If you are on the fence, go for it.

While this particular style of Fitovers is quite enormous, this is what I needed, and what I got. They look a little dorky on my small head, but I love them. The fit perfectly over my glasses, the cord/drawstring is secure and keeps them in place, and I love the side windows for more peripheral vision. Function is very good - good glare reduction and protection. The surround keeps particulates out, too. I am looking forward to bicycling with them in the winter - no more snowflakes in my eyes! They seem very sturdy, too. I've had them for several weeks, and tend to be hard on things. While they've been jammed in their nice case into many places, and onto my head...so far, no signs of weakness. Vendor was very expeditious, and packaging was minimal.

Fits well over my prescription glasses. Comfortable and has good tinting. Excellent quality frame made to last.

I have worn them for more than a year love them BUT they tend to fall off my face when looking down. Yes you can attach the strap to them but during the winter that strap is harder to use when wearing a hoodie beanie, or multi layers. I use to where them without the strap when I wear a ball cap, since they will stay on my cap when not using. They are a better quality over glasses sun glasses than some of the other ones I have used. I also really like the mirror look of the lenses even with the amber lens, way cool looking. Since they are better quality they are a little heavier then others which when using for a long trip in the car can become uncomfortable. I would recommend them and will purchase a replacement when I need to.

These were just delivered are are just about perfect. I live in southern Utah and the midday summertime glare is terrible. Legally, I need to wear glasses when I drive. I also have macular degeneration. These sunglasses fit comfortably over my glassess and the view is awesome. The glare is essentailly eliminateed. They provide sunshade, but the view is still bright (in a nice way) and sharp. My first reaction was "wow." I took them out in the middle of the day for a short drive, heading away from the sun and towards it, and the glare-reduction was perfect in both directions. I say "just about perferect" because I suppose they could fit a tad bit better, but really, it is minor, they fit welll, are light, and bloock light from all directions quite well. They appear to be well built, and come with a good case. These stay in my car. These are a five-star product, without hesitation. I can definitely recommend.

I wish I could give these five stars, but the cool factor has to amount for something, right? That's really my only complaint with these. They are definitely function over form. I'm okay with that, but there needs to be some kind of disclosure. I've never had a problem with my eyes being sensitive to sunlight. In fact, this is only the second pair of sunglasses I have ever owned. My first pair was a prescription pair. Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy two pairs of glasses every time I get my prescription updated. When you have blue light sensitivity, astigmatism, strabismus, and bifocals all at the same time, lenses tend to get a bit expensive. I thought about numerous different solutions, but my optometrist recommended these. At first, I resisted because of the cool factor (or lack thereof). However, there just comes a time when a person needs to do what he or she needs to do in order to keep his or her sanity. It happened on the way to work one morning. I couldn't see the road because of the blinding sunlight combined with a windshield that probably got cleaned the last time I had to drive to work into the blinding sunlight nine months ago. I broke down and ordered these, and I have to say that I'm pretty happy with them. They are lightweight, so it doesn't really feel like I'm wearing anything extra. Plus, the small lens on each side not only allows me to continue to use my peripheral vision while driving, but it also allows that peripheral vision to be protected from the sunlight. These have now become my official driving glasses. However, when I was driving with my nephew last month, I had to make him promise to not laugh at me before I would put them on. Of course, he laughed anyway, but at that point, I think it was more because I told him not to.

Be advised: The JP Aviator Fitovers only come in size X-Large. Rufus mistakenly indicates the Aviators also come in size Large. Not so.

I need glasses and in the past few years have needed bifocals - can't see or read without them. My prescription sun glasses have become expensive. I travel a lot and over the past few years have lost three pairs of prescription sun glasses - probably more than $1,200 worth of glasses. This last time I just wanted something inexpensive that if I forgot on the airplane would not be a painful loss. These work great. Good sun protection, stick to the top of my head or on a baseball cap when not needed, and offer good cheap protection. I'll probably never get another pair of prescription sun glasses. Great product. They look big but I don't care. The price is right and the functionality is excellent.
