There are certain games on pc that I prefer to use a controller. The problem was I needed a controller that was compatible with pc games. This turned out to be the perfect controller. Its design is similar to the 360 controller but not nearly as thick. Which gives it a more comfortable feel. The durability is exceptional. I have purchased multiple of this controller and each one has lasted hundreds of hours. With very lengthy sessions of consistent use. It works with just about any game that is compatible with an Xbox controller. The controls feel smooth and responsive. Any game I use this controller for feels like it was designed with this controller in mind. The battery life is phenomenal and it charges rather quickly. As a bonus, the charging cord is a decent length. Finally, you can get this high quality controller for less than $40! I don't know of any other controller with this level of quality that you can buy for that price. This is my favorite controller and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Man I love this controller! My experience is one that pleases me greatly and I'm very happy with my purchase. It connected so easily through Bluetooth to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and my LG Aristo 3+ cell phone and an old Kyocera Hydro Wave even! It works through the 2.4Ghz dongle to all 3 of my pc's and the connection is just as flawless. I can notice no lag on any of the emulators I run on my tablet or PC and was pleasantly surprised by this. The battery life has been what seems to be better than the 20 hours its advertised as. Great build quality, perfect size and ergonomics for my average hands, and overall a super great purchase. I paid about $34 for it with free Prime shipping when EVERYWHERE else on the web had it listed at $59.99. I feel I got a great controller for a super deal and am all the way pleased. Hell it sounds like I work for these people or something lol (I do not for the record) but when I get a great product, especially at a great price, I'll go out of my way to leave great feedback that hopefully helps the next guy. I try to include info that other reviewers didn't or answer a question i had when looking to buy the product. If you're looking for an awesome controller at an unbeatable price look no further. It being a dual wireless controller was the icing on the cake for me. Good stuff good stuff I promise

EDITED 10-2024 (Since I wrote this review I haven’t had any problems with this controller, so I retract my prior statement. ========= Original review: This is a really good controller. It has almost everything you could want in a controller, but there is one really big problem. If you let the controller completely lose its charge then you will not be able to use the controller for almost a day if not longer. This wireless controller can hold a charge for a really long time. You can use it for several days on a full charge and never have to plug it in. The charge lasts so long that sometimes you forget that you have to recharge it occasionally. It’s hard to tell when the charge on the controller is running low. This is why it’s easy to forget to plug it in occasionally. This wouldn’t be a big problem with most rechargeable devices, but with this controller; if you let it completely lose its charge, the controller becomes completely unusable. You can’t just plug it in and start playing again. It’s not like an iPhone or most other rechargeable device; where if you plug it in it’ll turn on again after a few minutes. If you let the charge on the controller completely run out then you can’t use it for almost more than a day, if not longer. You simply have to wait for it to recharge, which can be very frustrating. Because of this flaw it’s easy to come to the conclusion that the controller is broken. There are YouTube videos that suggest that if you open the controller and simply unplug the battery and replug it in this will allow the controller to work again, but the problem with this solution is that if you open the controller you void the warranty. I have not tried it so I don’t have first-hand experience with solution. If this is true, A simple reset button with a cut off switch between the battery and the circuitboard with the save a lot of players time and heartache, but unfortunately the manufacturer has yet to show the intelligence to do this. Until the manufacturer fixes this particular problem I would recommend that players avoid this controller. Either that or keep this wireless controller plugged in at all times.

Great gaming controller. Paired perfectly with my PC and wasn’t cheap material. Great value over the name brands. Buttons didn’t stick and is a great light weight. Overall, great controller

I really wanted to like this gamepad. The option to switch between 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections meant it could serve double duty with my PC and upcoming RetroPie, and I had recently purchased a SteelSeries Arctis 7 headset which I've been very happy with. Right off the bat I had an issue with the gamepad getting assigned to player 2 even though it was the only gamepad present; I resolved it by rebooting with the gamepad connected, and it was then assigned to player 1. Not a big deal at all...until... Every few minutes the gamepad spontaneously disconnected and then reconnected to Windows 10. Whenever this happened the gamepad would revert to player 2, requiring a reboot to get back to player 1 status. (FYI, having the gamepad assigned to player 2 fouls up the control mappings in a lot of games, and in some games it won't work at all.) I did what troubleshooting I could, and found out that the issue was with the wireless adapter itself, as it disconnected/reconnected even with the gamepad powered off. I contacted SteelSeries customer support and asked about the disconnection issue. I received a prompt response stating that it was a common issue with Windows 10, and therefore they didn't have a solution. Let me repeat that: it's a common issue with Windows 10, and because it's a common issue they don't have a fix. The logic of that statement throttles the intellect, as common issues tend to get fixed. I was basically told that it has a huge flaw when used with Windows 10, so suck it up and enjoy! Considering I had 1) a hugely flawed product, 2) a borderline insulting customer service response, and 3) a liberal return policy from Amazon I decided not to suck it up and enjoy. I returned the Stratus Duo, and on top of the refund i plunked down another $30+ for a Microsoft wireless Xbox controller for PC. Obviously, given my experience I can't recommend this product to anyone. I did get some gaming in with it though, and here are my thoughts, connectivity flaw and garbage customer service notwithstanding: PROS: Feels great in the hand--good balance, weight, texture Excellent D-pad and analog sticks--very responsive and comfortable Feels very solid and well made, not cheap at all Good looking: matte black with glossy black accents, classy and understated CONS: Button area is slightly recessed, causing my thumb to get lost occasionally Select and start buttons are sharply recessed and an obnoxious PIA to press Triggers have a much shorter travel path than on most gamepads No place to store wireless adapter on gamepad (come on--it's tiny!) No rumble feedback Despite the cons listed above, were it not for the disconnection issue I would've kept this gamepad. In fact, I'd like to be holding it right now. It made a generally good impression when I used it, and in time I probably would've gotten used to the slightly recessed buttons (though I'd probably curse those select and start buttons forever). To paraphrase A Fish Called Wanda, "You have a lovely gamepad...when it works." I don't know about you, but I'm not willing to pay for a "when it works" gamepad. The product drove me to SteelSeries' customer service department, and their customer service response drove me directly to their higher priced competitor. Amazon's return policy means not having to tolerate bad customer service. Someone might want to mention that to the good folks at SteelSeries.

Works amazing with my NVIDIA SHIELD operating system I use for gaming to perfection! Very affordable compared to other controllers and was set up with ease. Just all around very simple to use! I truly appreciate the aesthetics of this product and love the black color and how it resembles both a PS2 and a Xbox controller combined! It’s not too noisy and it’s doesn’t overly vibrate either; the level of noise is perfect. Also, it’s in between the same size as a PS2 and Xbox controller. Made of very durable material and sounds as well as looks more expensive than other more expensive brands!

With the introduction of the Geforce Now game streaming service, I wanted to be able to utilize an old Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 for gaming. I've seen Steel Series products for a while but had never used anything in their space. The gamepad seemed reasonably priced and had the features I was looking for in a gamepad. When the gamepad arrived, used Bluetooth pairing to join it to my tablet. The mechanism isn't exactly as straight forward as most devices, but with a quick clarification from looking at the instructions, I was off and running. The gamepad was recognized as expected by Geforce Now and seemed to be working. However, I loaded a "twin-stick" title and noticed the right stick aiming was not performing as expected. I wasn't sure if this was a compatibility issue on the tablet, so I used the included USB dongle and connected it to a PC. Using DIView and other Windows utilities, I confirmed that the right stick was not functioning as designed. I logged a support ticket with Steel Series and received the standard "support script" of what to verify (which were things I had already done and included in my original ticket information). I do understand that companies have specific support scripts so that was anticipated. What was not anticipated was that I waited for over a week and a half for a response after that initial exchange. There was nothing. While waiting, I ended up initiating a return via Amazon which was shipped out and received within 2 days. The replacement functioned as designed. I did some searches online and found many complaints about the support at Steel Series. You cannot talk to a human, you can only interact via their ticket system. No online chat. With that, be careful of their products. You may get lucky and get a functioning product the first time, or you may get non-fully functioning product. The chatter on various message forums suggest the quality control is not the best in this area. When the product is functioning, it works well. I am now concern as to how long the product will function properly. If there are competing products in the space, I would recommend looking at those instead of Steel Series products if they fit your needs and budget.

Jan 22: Comparing this to what I normally use, a PlayStation 5 dual sense. Is definitely a more Xbox controller feel. The buttons much like this series s controllers, are nice and clocky, and it has the standard ABXY layout. Your navigation buttons that are standard for Xbox are different, the three in the middle of the controller, but overall this thing feels amazing. I have personally not felt a controller that feels this premium, let alone in this price range. Definitely recommend! Mar 8: This is AMAZING. I honestly would use this for PlayStation as well. It's a good mix between the grips of a Xbox controller, and the size of a PlayStation controller. The buttons are ABXY with colored dots for referenced. The only weird thing is the center buttons, but that's really it. Still HIGHLY recommend Aug 8: Still great! does get a little sticky sometimes on the joysticks, although i am pushing them forward and i ride the rim to turn smoothly.
