I use this for my homemade pon for my plants. It's very clean and perfect size!

I initially purchased this rock years ago to us in a bonsai but couldn't decide which plant I wanted so it sat on my potting bench for a year or two. Just recently I needed to re-pot a Christmas Cactus so I used the lava rock as part of the filler soil and spread the leftover on top. It works well for drainage and looks good as well. This purchase is for re-potting my plants in the future.

Not enaugh lava

Great product, well sifted and packaged great.

Homogenous size, porous but well draining, came in a sturdy resealable bag, and looks great. I was surprised that there was virtually no dust, so K didn’t have to do any extra washing and sifting. I am quite happy with this purchase. I am using lava rocks primariky for a fully inorganic substrate for my haworthias and mesembs, but it looks like it would work well mixed into soil or as top dressing as well. Will come again when I have more plants in need of potting or repotting.

I bought this to be the primary base for a new planted aquarium. Have to say the granules were the perfect size for a 15 gallon tank. Added some premium aquarium soil and clay on top of that and it came out really nice and clear on the first cycle. For any other aquarium person here, yes lava rock or pumice are perfect for tanks as they help lower ph and keep the good bacteria thriving. Also not only that, but the holes in the lava rock are airy and provide a good place for plants to grow.

The lava rocks were exactly what I wanted. However, it is a very small amount for an extremely high price. It wasn't enough to finish my planting.
