Vinyl coating is a good move
It's a lead weight, so there's really not much to say. I bought these mainly for the vinyl coating as I think having a more substantial barrier between you and the lead might reduce the risk of contamination and lead exposure. So far, it's a great product. After trying these out, I purchased more in the other sizes, and will take them with me locally, as well as for any travel where I'm not flying.

Expensive, But Worth It
I've been diving for 30 years, and I really don't like soft weights (long drying time), or uncoated hard weights. The Sea Pearls vinyl coated weights are covered with a very thick vinyl, and are relatively impervious to drops on rocks, asphalt and concrete. I've found a few Sea Pearl coated weights underwater, and have purchased a few. They last for more than a couple of decades, at least! They are pricey, but well-worth it, IMHO. Much easier to load in weight pouches than soft weights, and they'll never tear and leave you with lead shot all over the place!

A scuba Divers necessity
Compact, slight curvature for comfort around the waist and coated as to not get stuck on arms or BC

Best rigid dive weights
Sea Pearl weights are an excellent value and have held up perfectly. The coating on them looks brand new even after years of abuse. I use these in salt and freshwater and haven’t seen any corrosion. I just purchased an additional weight and it arrived promptly and well packaged. I wouldn’t buy any other rigid weight. Sea Pearls’ quality is top-level.

True to size and weight
Been diving with this for awhile now. Great weight and the protective coating is nice so you dont have to touch the lead. Stays secure on belt and looks cool.

I was a bit overambitious assuming this 8 lb weight would serve me as well as two 4 lb weights, but it is an excellent prop to help me with underwater photography when the model cannot release her breath adequately to sink on her own but a standard weight belt would impede the photo. It can easily be hidden or laced on to a thigh which can be more easily photoshopped depending on leg position, and the model can relax into more interesting facial expressions and dance positions for a fun photo shoot.

For my orchid pots
I'm not a diver, but I bought these to use a counterweight for my orchid pots. I attach them with s-hooks and they work great.

Trad bow balance weight
This thing works great as a balancing weight on my recurve bow. I don’t have a modern riser with attachment points, nor do I like the look of those balancing rods sticking out in front anyway. The 2lb fits great and is about the perfect weight for my bow. The only thing I might change is to strap it using leather instead, just for the looks of it.
