Great laces, very strong, easy to tie
Honestly perplexed by some of the other reviews. These are great laces. Very strong, easy to tie, stay tied. Work with normal lacing methods, likely to need double knotting but who's not doing that already? They don't hurt your hands, the other reviewers most be overly sensitive. They unlace easy enough, you don't need to pull them through every loop. They're not quite black, more of a metalic grey / black.

Extremely strong, and takes getting used to
I've got boots that keep shredding laces (I think an edge on one of the eyelets is slicing them) so I bought these hoping they would be different, or at least no risk with the guarantee. The good news: they are strong. 4 pairs of laces lasted less than a month, after a month these iron laces aren't even scratched so I'm certainly happy they will last me a decent time. The difference: they are harsh. These laces have zero stretch or give in them. It took a while to get them laced just right because they don't stretch and balance out as you walk and don't dream about slipping shoes on and off. They are very grippy against the eyelets and against themselves. It takes a little getting used to, but they come off after an hour walk with exactly the same tightness as when I first tied them. I think it's a good thing, as long as you have boots with open hook eyelets at the top or loosening these could be hard The bad: these are very harsh on the fingers. Pulling tight is hard (see above) and if you pull the knot too tight it hurts to undo. You need to accept that a mild knot will still hold it reliably. They also arrive very dirty. Part of the manufacturing process seems to leave them with a black powder residue that really gets over your hands. I suggest when you buy them give them a lot of wiping before first use, or that the manufacturer does it before packaging. I'm happy with the laces, it's sort of what you want in a heavy pair of boots as long as you know what you are getting.

Not entirely unbreakable
Bought these back in march of 2024, they're not entirely unbreakable as on of the laces broke off recently but given the fact I work around sharp pieces of steel it was bound to happen. Overall they're definitely worth the price considering they've lasted over a year without breaking.

Hopefully indestructible shoelaces
So far, not broken. Will update this periodically. Last pair died within a month of installation, so if these can beat that, that's a start! They are covered in a black substance that comes off on your hands initially when tying your own shoelaces, but this does seem to eventually wear off. If they last longer than an equivalent amount of cheaper/shoddier shoelaces, I'll be happy. I'm expecting a lifetime because that's what it says on the tin.

Good and great for pulling stuck tuning slides on trumpet
They work as advertised. They are fairly rigid so they don't stay knotted as well as regular shoe laces but okay with a double knot. Also I have found they are excellent as a tool for pulling stuck tuning slides on brass musical instruments because they do not stretch.

Excellent tough laces
Having read these reviews I have to wonder if some of the reviewers have even seen these laces. Yes, some dark residue comes off them for the first few days. I bought black and they are now a dark grey. However they do NOT 'cut my hands' or anything so dramatic, as stated by others. They are an extremely tough lace with very little give in them, though they do flex. Rather than being like steel, they are more like a heavily waxed boot lace. Ultimately, if you have a need for a lace that badly machined eyelets cannot destroy, or any other reason for wanting an EXTREMELY tough lace, look no further. These laces will probably outlast me, but would I buy them again? Yes, without hesitation. Nuff said.

Expensive but not quality
The laces are OK and don't slip as some have suggested. They feel very strong but don't have much "give" in them. I bought black laces and whatever dye they use is not permanent, after only a few days they are more dark grey than black as the dye seems to wear off with use.

Very durable
These are a great set of hard-wearing laces, great for hiking boots or shoes.

It's made of a very durable material, wow! If it were a little thicker, that would be even better, but I'm happy with the price and its excellent quality.

Hält. Hält einfach. Verliert die braune Farbe dabei, weil die einfach beim Schnüren laufend abgerieben wird, aber.... Hält.

A solid, good quality lace with more than enough length. Laces are thin and stiff; the rough exterior actually prevents lace knot from untying. The color is versatile and goes with different shades of brown and tan shoes. I do recommend this product.

The product was received promptly and sealed in original packaging. I can't comment on their durability yet as I haven't had them long enough but I will update (particularly if they don't last as long as I hope). However, they look and feel to be very high quality. As noted by others, the laces are relatively thin. In fairness, that info is provided in the item description (they are 1/8" or 3mm across). I've uploaded images showing the IronLace next to the ones being replaced so you can see the size difference though I should note that the old ones have swollen a bit with use over time. The size of the laces, as well as the solid aglets (tight and strong), made lacing the boots very easy. The laces themselves are stiff with a slight texture to them. I don't mind the stiffness and had no issues using them as-is out of the box. To this point I haven't had any issue with them loosening or becoming untied. I got the black version and, as the images show, they are more of a very dark grey, close to black but not a true black. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase at this point.

I have bought multiple pairs for all my footwear. No complaints. If you're tired of laces wearing out well before the shoe/ boot does- get yourself a pair pf these.
