This is soft sided but still has shape to it. The insulation is great for a hot day on the beach/boat. It kept waters and snacks cool with 2 medium sized ice packs. The extra pockets and padded straps are great.

it's made of a very thick, almost stiff material, and had a high quality feel to it. The bag looks full even when I wear it empty due to the thickness of the padding. I took it to the store on an 88 F day, packed a few ice cream and cold drinks inside, and brought them home on the bus, which involved me standing and walking outside in the sun on this very hot day for about 20 minutes, and when I got home the ice cream was just as cold as when I bought it. It also fits more than it looks like when you look inside the bag; the padding is very thick and makes the inside look cramped, but it could easily fit 2 boxes of drumsticks (the ice cream) and 4 20 oz bottles of soda at the same time with room to spare. I have not tested the waterproofing because I bought it so I could buy frozen food at the store without worrying about it melting on the bus, so I don't intend on filling it with ice.

We have gone through several other backpack coolers and this one has help up the best and keeps things cold all day. This is one of the best coolers I have purchased. I have several high end coolers and this is great!

Got this cooler because I wanted something my daughters could take in the dug out that wouldn’t leak. It’s been perfect. It keeps ice on the hottest of days for at least 4 hours which is far less than they say but it also gets opened quite a bit being in a dugout at a ball park that’s 90 degrees plus all day. I can put 16 bottles of water and ice in the cooler and it’s perfect size for that.

We bought this instead of taking our yeti because it packs into suitcase nicely. The only downfall is that it does leak if not kept upright. My husband bent over to pick up a shell on the beach and water poured out the top from melted ice. Great for affordability.

Freeze a couple water bottles and store next to your drinks and you are good to go for a day of boating. Fits 4 frozen water bottles, 8 cans of beverage and a couple containers of snacks.
