Great can to keep your pets out of! I love that this can has the option of plugging into a wall outlet and that you can leave the can locked open OR locked closed. We did set the trash can on top of an upside down milk crate to give it that extra height to keep our coonhound out of the trash. If you have a smaller dog, they won't be able to set off the sensor that opens the lid of the can, but in our case, with the taller coonhound, we needed that extra height. Our dog can sniff at the can, but not up at the top near the sensor now, so the can lid does not open when she sniffs at it or just walks by. There is also an on/off switch on the back of the lid to lock the can lid down until you unlock it. We've had this can now for 2 years and it works great!

I researched so many trash cans before deciding on this one. It is wonderful. I’ve had no issues with it at all. Just wave your hand and the lid opens. Heck, sometimes I walk by, and the sensors are so good it opens. I really like this trash can. It also was a great price!

Guests have mistaken it for a small, high-tech appliance or perhaps an art installation. This is actually the 2nd can I purchased. The first one I purchased arrived with a dent in it and I didn't send it back because I was able to remove the dent. I also purchased an ac adapter because it stated online that I could use one with this particular model. But lo and behold the particular model they sent me was dc operated only. So I was definitely pissed, a dented can that you can only operate with batteries.. The can lasted for about a year because I accidentally dented it to the point where I could no longer fit the garbage bag retainer ring on the opening of the can. So I purchased another one because I like this can so much. This time I received the ac model can without any dents. Well within about a year the filter housing unit fell off into the trash without me noticing it for about a month. I only found out when I was about to change the filter. Pissed again! This is a pretty nice can but it can dent very easily and the filter unit can can dislodge and fall off into the trash without you noticing it, particularly if you're not checking the filter unit periodically to make sure its still attach to the can. Well when this can stops functioning. I going to find a different manufacture who makes a sturdier can with a filter unit that won't fall off into the trash. It you need a stronger can, look else where!

A few months in, and zero problems. It does what it says.Pros:Holds standard bags. I've never had a problem with big-name kitchen trash bags fitting. The "retainer ring" to affix the bag to the can is simple and effective.Motion detection works great. It really wants you to walk in front of the can, so it's not always sensitive to waving a food wrapper in front of the sensor. But you get used to it. Put your leg by the can and it opens.Pairs well with an A/C adapter. I'd strongly recommend getting the A/C adapter if you can. Never worry about batteries again.Power on/off for when you clean the can, go on vacation, or change bags. The lid still tends to pop open while moving it from the way the lid is counterweighted, but that's fine. So long as the motor isn't running when you tell it not to.Cons:The carbon filter idea is a modern trend I don't really like. Even if you want to replace the filter, which is easy enough, it lives inside your garbage can. It gets splashed with all the gross stuff in there. I'd rather just take it off as soon as the included filter runs out of life.Overall:This motion sensing trash can has worked perfectly. In my experience, unless you get a really expensive or industrial pedal bin, I've seen sensors tend to work longer than foot pedals. So I love this garbage can. Recommended.

A great addition to a small kitchen. Opens very easily, in fact we've had to move it as every time we walked past here was an open mouth waiting for trash. Like the filter, no smell.

I like this trash can it has a wide mouth. It is very responsive. I like the shape. I will put a ceramic coat on it. I am going to use it with a power cord. I have used batteries on another version. Yes, the batteries did last a long time, but I don't have to utilize it like a full family would. You can add popon wheels (not the screw on type). To see the right ones look at other Itouch items. I would have liked the power cord to come with it, but I knew what I was buying. I am sure I have several laying around in my computer room. The lock on the lid is decent, but if pets knock it over hard enough the whole lid will pop off. It is harder for pets to knock over the trash cans on wheels.
