i usually like the Sambucol Black Elderberry products, but this one didn't really work for me. It's intended as a supplement, not really a cold medicine. It's recommended to take 2 daytime capsules, 3 times per day and 2 night time at night. So the package only contains enough for 3 days.The ingredients for a supplement are fine, but i found the capsules large and difficult to swallow. i didn't really notice a taste. i didn't notice a real difference in my cold symptoms while taking these. i think i'll stick with their elderberry gummy products.

This pack contains capsules good for either day or night use. The ingredients are mostly the same, but the nighttime capsules contain poppy in addition to elderberry, English Ivy, and White Willow. The poppy extract is presumably meant to provide some relaxation effects, although this is usually combined with something like Valerian Root for more effectiveness. Elderberry is well known to be used for immune support, and the dosage of 162 mg three times daily is within the range generally used. The capsules are on the larger side. This is a good pack for the management of symptoms from a viral illness. There are only three days worth of capsules, so if symptoms persist another pack would be necessary, although it is recommended to only take elderberry for a short period of time. In addition, the efficacy of certain medications are affected by taking elderberry, so this supplement should be used with caution.

Despite taking as directed during a cold, I didn’t notice any discernible benefits for both day and night. It was akin to taking a sugar pill, and over time my body took care of any remaining symptoms. Pills are large and require water to swallow. Due to lack of efficacy, there’s nothing else to add.

I was told by my partner that I HAVE to give this 5 stars. They claim to have had the best sleep in months after taking the night time pills (I could not since they are made with gelatin, unlike the day version that is veg cap... WHY? I would have docked a star for them not being veg friendly). They were actually impressed enough to run out and grab more boxes locally.The daytime worked for me (day and night) almost as well as Mucinex and I appreciate that this is a natural alternative. I've used Sambucol before for colds and had a good experience, this (mucous and cough tablets) may be even better.All winter long we've just been coughing and hacking, it's nice to finally have some relief.

Works well, tastes well enough. They are easy to swallow and I like that they have both for night and day in one pack, which makes it easy.

Neither the "Day" nor the "Night" capsules helped reduce any of my cold symptoms. I don't recommend the product to anyone.
