Brighter than expected, both the torch and lantern mode. Wanted something for emergencies and being able to use it to charge other devices is useful. Having the crank charge option was the main selling point for me. You can charge from a usb plug and does have a solar panel am not sure how efficient that would be and maybe serves just to keep the battery topped up with a trickle charge.

Very handy little light, really bright, easily charged no worries about having to cable charge it as the solar panel and winder work fine, very good for the money a must have camping item!

I bought this light for emergencies in the home. It took some time to charge but, once at strength it was very bright so useful.Recently I tried to charge it by hand which used a lot of my energy. Then, just as it was brightening, the winding handle stuck fast. If I'd been up a mountain or in an isolated camp site this would have been very inconvenient and, even in my home but with a power failure, very annoying.It seems that many purchasers really like it - which was why I bought it - and maybe my mishap isisolated but it's disconcerting in a lamp built foir camping and very inconvenient when it breaks so readily.Lesley Clements

Excellent for camping😊

There is so much to like about this hand crank camping lantern. You get the lantern in a bubble-wrap bag, a USB-A to USB-C cable (no plug), a carabiner and an instruction booklet, in a robust, branded cardboard box. I would say that this is also very giftable for anyone who likes a good gadget.The lantern is smaller than I expected it to be, but does pull open in use. It’s lightweight, so it’s easy to keep in a backpack. It is plastic, but feels reasonably well-made. I like the style of it, as there are two metal wire handles that it can be carried or hung up by, plus there’s the carabiner, which is always a useful addition. The lantern is activated by pulling it apart, and gives out a surprisingly bright white light that does a really great job of lighting spaces. The torch is button activated, and is adequate; I’d say it’s a nice extra or back up rather than something to rely on. You can also use this as a phone charger, but again, I’d suggest emergency use only.There are multiple ways to charge the radio: USB Type-C cable, a winding handle, and a small solar panel. The most effective way to charge it is the USB Type-C cable, but both the hand crank and the solar power can add a useful top up. The hand-crank was actually fun, and we did get a decent amount of light for our efforts.At the time of writing this review, the cost is £19.99, and that’s probably the maximum I would pay for it.
