My niece loves this set. The colors are great and don't smear. She is just beginning to do makeup, so this was perfect.

When you get a makeup set, the general expectation is that you'll be able to use it all in some way. Unfortunately, that is not true for me as an adult who has already experimented with makeup. At this point, I do like decent quality, and the products included don't all hold up. Specifically, the eyeliner included smeared on my eye, and the concealer stick is not helpful for all skin tones. The mascara was watery and smudged easily, so that was trashed early on. The eyeshadows are nicely pigmented, so I do enjoy playing with those. If you are just starting to wear makeup, sure, try this. Otherwise, skip.

I’ve never heard of the Color Nymph brand before. But I have to say, it would make a nice inexpensive gift for a preteen just starting to learn to use makeup.The set has much of what you’re want to find in a starter set: 9 eye colors and an eyeshadow brush, two shades of lip gloss, blush / cheek highlighter, mascara, and a concealer stick. The colors are pretty neutral - bronzes/golds, pinks and have some sparkle but aren’t garish.This set also comes with a small “handbag” / makeup bag to store it in with a carrying strap and a magnetic closure. The bag is a perfect size - you could put a few more makeup items or a cellphone into it but it isn’t huge. It’s pretty stylish and neutral and doesn’t scream makeup bag - it could really be used as a little purse. The only thing to be wary of is that the closure is not snap so you’d need to be careful that the magnet doesn’t open and spill your wallet or phone out.The makeup is not the best quality (that’s to be expected) but it applies ok for the most part (the mascara and concealer don’t go on as well as typical products). You can’t pick out the shades so the blush and concealer may not be the correct color.I think this would be great for at home experimentation for an 11-13 year old or as backup desk drawer or car console products for a teen or adult. It’s a good value and would make a good gift for that age range.
