Cast Iron Muffin Toppers Biscuit Pan

Cast Iron pan for 6 - 3.75" diameter muffin tops. I used it to make burger buns (ultra low carb for Keto), they were excellent. I buttered each well lightly before adding the batter to the pan. After baking, a table knife stuck down the side of the baking well popped out each bun without any difficulty. I didn't have to run the knife around the perimeter, I just stuck it in and popped the bun out. Nice!The pan instructions say to use Camp Chef's Cast Iron Cleaner to clean the pan. Now they tell me. The pan comes pre-seasoned, ready to use - but I needed to clean it before the first use and after. The cleaner is available on line and maybe in some stores but I needed it right then.The surface is very textured, so that both paper towels or a cloth one leaves fibers behind. I will try a non-fuzzy towel if I can find one available, the kind my grandmother used decades ago. To clean it - a brush would work but I didn't have a good one handy. I used what I call a plastic "scrubbie" to clean it without any water; that worked. Cleaning caste iron without water is recommended by many - so if the scrubber is dry, you don't need to dry the pan afterwards.Bottom line - for me, using this economically priced pan requires having one or two non-linting towels. And I'll look for an appropriate brush for scrubbing it easily.

First off, those having trouble might need to try another men's of seasoning this pan. I season ALL my cast iron with butter and it only takes about 5-15 minutes! First get your oven heated to 350, pop your pan in, wait till it's hot, rub butter all over it using LOTS! Pop it back in for another 5-10 minutes. Now let it cool. Rub some fresh butter on it before use and again after. That's it! My skillets I do on the stove same way. I love cast iron, been using cast iron skillets for years and decided it was high time I got some cast iron bakeware too!My family LOVES muffins, it's a favorite so this was my first choice purchase.It took a couple times to season it perfectly but it's perfect now! I actually haven't made muffins yet BUT, based on another review I tried cooking eggs in it for a quick biscuit sandwich for breakfast.. this morning I put a slice of ham under the egg and it was absolutely perfect! These were ready same time as the biscuits.Only concern is it only holds six and with a family of 8 I need to buy another to get everyone fed at once! :) Def buying another!

this pan is pretty great. I didn't even realize it was cast iron when I bought it (which is cool because i love cast iron)the only thing that bothered me is there was a little rust in one of the cups. The seasoning that came on it was somewhat alright but it was pretty sticky so I scrubbed about 75% of it off with hot soapy water and the hard side of the sponge, and i got the rusty spot off with some barkeepers friend. then I applied some flax oil and baked it at 375 degrees for about an hour and a half. Now its got a nice slick surface that's not sticky and the rust spot is gone so its pretty great. Used it for brioche buns even though its a muffin topper (I like slimmer buns and I think this made them perfectly.

Cleanup is easy. (I love cast iron and have lots of experience with it.) Like other reviewers, we're using this for making keto buns. Burgers are great on keto! Google gnom-gnom for the recipe that a perfect amount of dough for this pan.The size is a great match for most frozen burger patties.This is a one time purchase per lifetime as it will last forever.I'd give 5 stars if it didn't have the awkward handles. It would fit in our toaster oven without them. We simply use our full size range instead. Still considering the angle grinder solution.Other thoughts: Could make salmon patties in it to perfectly match the buns!

So far so good. I'm trying to get a handle on how long to bake things while in a cast iron pan, but I don't usually bake anyway. The three times I did use it my muffins came out fine, though it's a bit more like a wide muffin rather than a muffin top. Could be because I'm not a baker and I don't really know what I'm doing in the kitchen. I'm happy with it though and oil it up after I rinse it out with water after each use.

Not what I wanted, assuming I misread the dimensions. I was looking for a large muffin pan, I saw this one and did not catch that it has almost no depth to it.Was out of town and missed the return date, so I'll have to find some use for it.This item seems to be the same quality as other Camp Chef products i own, no disappointment there. Hence the three star rating.If you want a pan to make muffin tops only, this is it!

This cast iron pan is perfect for making hamburger buns. This is the second one I bought so I can bake a dozen buns at once, a full recipe. They rise perfectly and always turn out great. I haven’t baked muffins in them yet. For buns and rolls, they’re perfect!
