Easy to install, Easy to use.

We decided to get this lock for our patio entrance so that we can give a separate code to our friend for cat sitting occasions. It allowed us to keep our entry codes private, while still being notified when she is coming in. It also gives us peace of mind when remotely locking the door.It was not hard to install and get the app up and running. Very satisfied with the purchase in general.

Great smart lock!!

Love our Yale Smart Locks, great tech support and love the Yale App interface! We have one on our AirB&B it makes so we can send guests a personal entry code that expires once they’re time is up. Loved the first lock so much I added a second to my shop!!

Non responsive dead after 1 year

These ate batteries, didnt work well in the cold, were a pain to manage multiple users and now out of 4 locks, 2 have died 368 to 372 days after purchase.I do not recommend Yale or August locks. Save your money.

I think I like it

I bought this mainly for the auto-unlock feature. So far it has worked about 50% of the time. There must be a trick to getting it to work that I haven't figured out yet.I bought this lock twice. The first package came with incorrect handles. The door handles had holes (someone else posted a photo) that exposed the inside of the mechanism on both sides of the door. The second package came with the right ones. The instructions for installing the door knob were horrible. The were not written for this model. After a loooooot of trial and error I finally got it on correctly. I wish I had taken photos to share with you but I didn't think of it until it was already assembled and I am just not going to do that one more time.I like how the keypad is not visible until you press the Yale button. It's less obvious as a keypad lock.

Solid Hardware; Continued Software & Connectivity Features

As of writing this review, I’ve been using this lock for almost 5 months to remotely manage access to a short term vacation rental that is located 10 hours away from where I live. I purchased the lock based on its advertised ability to manage user & guest access remotely and without a monthly subscription cost - in theory, it should allow me to provide a personalized lock code to guests for the duration of their stay at our property. For the first 2 months, this lock and the Yale app worked perfectly. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same at this point. For the past 3 months I have had repeated issues with the lock’s connectivity to the app, rendering it useless for remote access management. I’ve reset and rebooted the lock and removed and reinstalled the app repeatedly with Yale’s tech support assistance, but the connectivity issues continue. I’m having two major connectivity issues: 1. I’m regularly not able to connect to the lock to sync the guest codes that I create in the app to the actual lock, so the guest codes won’t work. Sometimes simply time passing fixes this issue; other times a hardware reset is required. 2. Guest access codes have completely stopped working mid-stay for guest; according to the guest data in the app they’re still active, but the code will not trigger the door to unlock. The ONLY way to troubleshoot the lock is to be present at the property - as I’ve previously stated the property is 10 hours away (thus the need for remote lock management). I have multiple other smart devices operating from the same WiFi network and being controlled remotely - so the issue isn’t the network. In my last call to Yale’s customer service team, I requested to return the product for a refund; they’ve advised me that I’m outside my 60 day return window, regardless of our many-documented conversations. They’ve offered to send me a bridge to “potentially increase connection stability.” Not only is this not very reassuring as a fix, but this was my 5th call to support for the same reported problem; why are they just now offering this solution? And again…someone has to be present at the property to install and configure the bridge….not a remote solution. At a different property, we’ve used RemoteLock hardware as well as their access dashboard for 4+ years with literally ZERO issues. I purchased this Yale lock in hopes that I could avoid RemoteLock’s monthly subscription fee, and based on Yale’s product advertisements this product *should* provide the same functionality - sadly it doesn’t. At least, not with reliability and consistency. I’m giving the bridge a try since they won’t refund me; if that doesn’t work I’ll consider this a $275 learning lesson, buy RemoteLock’s hardware and gladly pay RemoteLock for their reliability.

Great wireless door security, but...

This lock and the app do their job decently. The Wi-Fi is EXTREMELY slow to connect to this lock remotely, but when close and utilizing Bluetooth, it's very responsive. Making codes remotely is perfect for short term rentals. I haven't seen the battery life yet, as I've only used it for about 3 weeks so far, but so far, so good. I did have an issue with it refusing to realize that it's locked, but a quick call to customer service resolved that issue very quick (I just had to make the bore about an eighth of an inch deeper lol)

Not a good product

It would be nice if I didn’t have to change the batteries every two months. We have a lot of people going in and out of the household and batteries run out even though they’re the best that you can buy. I would not buy another one.
