great addition to the camera unit
works great and very easy to setup and use (did not read instructions, just went through menu on unit). This is a wired unit not wireless, but i felt that i would not use enough to spend the extra money (approximately 10 dollars) for wireless, but we will see.......continued to another day! (I will probably order the wireless another day)

A Simple Solution for Capturing Family Memories After Loss
As someone who recently became widowed, taking family photoshoots became a challenge. It was hard to be in the photos or avoid looking silly while trying to hide the shutter release fob. So, I decided to try the JJC Intervalometer for my Canon EOS Rebel T6. It was quick to learn and set up, and it allowed me to capture moments with my family that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. I could set it to take photos every few seconds, which gave us the freedom to enjoy the moment without worrying about pushing buttons or hiding a fob.I even used it for Christmas morning. I set it up in the corner of the room and was able to get photos of the holiday with myself in them—something I hadn’t been able to do before. While I’m not a professional photographer, I can definitely say that this device did exactly what I needed: it continuously took images at set intervals, giving us natural, candid photos without any extra hassle. It’s a perfect tool for anyone who needs a reliable way to capture memories with ease.

Read the instructions
As others have said, read the instructions (if you can). The interval setting is confusing. Make sure you set the desired interval between exposures to your exposure time PLUS desired interval time. For 60 second shot with 5 seconds between shot set the interval to 1 minute 5 seconds.

Works with my Canon T3i
Understanding the timing did take a lurks getting used too. After that I found this device to be very useful.

Exactly as expected
Used with a Canon EOS-R: It's easy to use and reliable. I shot the entire 2024 solar eclipse at 15s intervals from first to last contact. I regularly use it for astrophotography and for shooting lightning storms. It's very simplistic and it's kind of like typing in your password with a TV remote, but that's what $20 gets you. My biggest problem is the cord. The remote dangles from my telescope or tripod and I don't have a good place to secure it, but again: you get what you pay for.

Great Intervalometer! Check your camera settings!
Just starting out in astrophotography with an EOS 850D and this thing is fantastic!! Simple to use, plug and play. Time will tell how long it lasts, but no complaints so far.To avoid some initial frustration... my camera has a setting in the "Shooting Settings" screen to enable/disable the processing of noise reduction in long exposure shots. This setting is on by default. So instead of taking a second or less to write the picture to the SD card, it was taking 10-15 seconds. Why is this important? Because I set my interval to allow for a 5 second gap between shots thinking that would be plenty of time. So when the 5 seconds had elapsed, my camera was still processing the previous image and this really screwed up my exposure times for subsequent shots and threw the whole setup completely out of whack. So if you're noticing something not jiving between the exposure time on your camera screen and the timer on your intervalometer, that setting could be the cause. Either leave it on and increase your interval to allow for a 15-20 second break, or turn it off and set to a 5 second break. I turned it off because we're already going to be stacking and processing all these shots to reduce noise anyway, right?

Good and Useful
This has really helped me automate my astrophotography, and give me more control over how I do long exposures. I like how you can hold the button for a custom shutter speed, which helps when doing light painting, or composing dark scenes quickly. The build feels as it should for the price, and it isn't too light nor heavy to the point it feels cheap or tiring to hold. The LEDs are helpful when it's dark, and the plastic peel was more satisfying than expected. Only thing I would improve is a memory fuction, and presets. This would help setting up quicker as you wouldn't have to manually change the settings everytime you turn it back on. Presets would allow for quick switching to the desired settings.
