This is fun show piece lighter. A must for any lighter collector for sure. Shipping does take a bit as they come straight from Japan, but definitely worth the wait. I definitely recommend.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It is glued together parts that fell apart after 2 weeks of use. It’s not antique AT ALL. Sloppy made. I paid $70 for this lighter and it was a total waste of money. I knew it was form Japan and I didn’t want to deal w the return. It looks cool- but it does not work as a lighter.

Really cool lighter. Works every time, from the first light out of the box. A little pricey, but handmade quality is great.

nice lighter, fascinating

I’ve only had this for a couple of days, but it seems to be well constructed and it certainly works like a champ. I really enjoy it! This will be my go-to lighter for the foreseeable future; I’ll return and post an update if it breaks.Update 11/01/2020Unfortunately, the previous negative reviews have proven correct. After perhaps 100 uses, the lighter required constant fiddling to make it hold together. Finally a crucial bit broke off, rendering it useless. This is not an operating lighter.

Different

This is a beautiful lighter. Too bad it actually fell to pieces after the first fill. Such a disappointment... the threaded piece that holds the fuel fill screw fell out.

良い評価です。1日5本くらい吸う生活で、購入してから3年以上壊れることなく使えております。ビンテージ風に見える表面処理は使っているとすぐに剥がれて金ピカツルツルになりますが、そういう時は紙ヤスリで全体を削れば傷だらけになって再びビンテージ風になります。不満なところを言えば、一週間くらいでオイルがなくなるので頻繁にオイルを足さないといけないことと、少しでも風があるとほぼ火がつかないこと。不便を楽しめる人なら気に入ると思います。あと可動部分のヒンジ？は見るからに壊れやすそうなので無理な力はかけないように気をつけています。普段オイルはすぐ抜けるくせに、ポケットに入れたまま洗濯機にかけても、なぜか火が着きます。ジッポ用の火打ち石？が使えます。無理やり二個詰め込むと着火性が抜群に良くなります。練習すれば片手で着火できます。飲み会でコレを使うと大抵の人は、「何それ？ライター？どうやって付けるの？やらせて！」となります。結論・壊れない・カッコイイ(と思ってる)・話のネタになる良いライターだと思います。

使ってて面白いが実用性は皆無。工作精度がイマイチではあるが癖を理解して使えば面白い。ヤスリを挟み込んだ2枚の正方形カムの回転が渋いので、最初にカムと従動部の間に軽く注油した方がいいです。動きが渋いのはカムと従動部が工作精度の問題で正対していないのも原因。まあでも面白いのは間違いない。

火を付けるのにカチャッと素早くノブを回さなければならない。着火精度は60%くらい。オイルの持ちは悪い方。入れすぎるとオイル漏れするので注意。ヤスリがかなり鋭利なのでかなり火花が出る。フリントが早くすり減りそう。片手では着火操作はできない。レトロな雰囲気を味わいたい人は気にいると思う。

不便を楽しめる男のライター

見た目や構造が面白いなと思って購入しましたが、これは本当に酷かった。火花が芯の土台にしか当たらない位置にあるので、そう簡単には着火しません。何を思ってこんな構造のものをライターとして販売しているのか・・・。
