Efficient and Easy-to-Use Gap Filler

The GREAT STUFF PRO Window & Door Gap Filler has been an invaluable tool in my DIY arsenal. Using the gun-applied insulating foam sealant made sealing gaps around my windows and doors quick and efficient. The 20 oz. can provides ample foam to cover multiple areas, and the yellow color makes it easy to see where I've applied it.One of the best features is the precision of the application. The gun allows for accurate control, ensuring that the foam only goes where it's needed, minimizing mess and waste. The foam expands just the right amount to fill gaps effectively without overexpanding, which can be a common issue with other products.A minor downside is the need to clean the gun thoroughly after each use to prevent clogging, but this is manageable with the proper cleaner. For any DIY enthusiast needing to insulate and seal gaps around windows and doors, this GREAT STUFF PRO product is a top-notch solution. Its ease of use, precise application, and effective sealing capabilities make it a must-have for improving energy efficiency in the home.

Awesome

This works so much better than the straw cans and it is cheaper because you don't waste half of the can and looks way better. Don't know why I waited to try this came on time and cheaper than big box stores I will buy again

Product goes a long way.

Cans go a long way and last as long as you clean up the gun.

If you buy one time use cans regularly, you owe it to yourself to look at this alternative...

I think there has been a misconception about the "Pro" cans vs. buy a can and use it once...I know I believed it for a long time. The simple reality is that if you use spray foam somewhat regularly, the pro can with gun is the way to go. The key to the gun is never taking the can of foam off, until it is empty and then replacing it with another can. If you are done with spray foam and do not plan to use it for months, then you can clean the gun. I have been amazed at the ease of the process. And the savings is huge, the other huge factor is the control and resultant improved finish product. There are all different sorts of guns, barrel lengths etc. but in general you adjust the knob on the rear of the gun to go from a bead as small as an 1/8" to large over 1" wide beads. Aside from the control over the dispensing, most guns have a variable trigger which offers even more control, The other savings comes in volume of spray. Many times when I have shot a can of foam it just doesn't last, and when you are doing several different areas (say window openings) you are in a hurry to get from spot to spot because the clock is ticking. Not so with a gun, I am amazed at the amount of foam required that actually is in a pro can.As far as the quality of the foam, I have tried other "canned" non-bulk foams, and I have found inconsistencies. Great Stuff has far greater consistency and is therefore my first choice for foam. Take a look at another Great Stuff product that is formulated to be construction adhesive. Again, the control of the gun is much less messy than tubes of caulk used in quick bursts. The pro line, is a superior product...It does require you to buy a gun, but there are even deals on amazon that basically throw one in for free. If you find yourself buying one time use cans frequently, change and do not look back. Don't forget the great stuff cleaner, and I also devote a can of goof off to the process. Dipping the nozzle of the gun into the goof off which removes and foam and also serves as a release agent before it dries.

Great Stuff Pro

This was a great product to use on a window frame that had a wide gap and air was getting inside the bedroom. The product sprays on a yellow hue. It also foams up rather quickly about an inch and a half. You have to be very quick to caulk the area with quick motions and judge the area you are using it for because it expands rather quickly. So far, it's been over three months and no air has been leaked in the window ledge. You definitely need to use an X-Acto blade to cut/trim down the excess. A good buy.

It's "Great"

I use bottles of this stuff for all kinds of renovations and sealing gaps. Given the price and the energy savings, you really can't lose with this. It's also cheaper than the big name stores. Just make sure to have a foam gun. It doesn't have to be expensive either and also the cleaning solution ready. It's good practice to try to always clean off the tips of your guns and occasionally spray them out with cleaner. Oh and another tip - use some Vaseline/petroleum jelly on the receiver of your foam gun before attaching this. It makes it much easier to pull off when it's empty.

Better in every way with these vs single use cans

These are for use with a dispensing gun i’m a carpenter and I literally have installed hundreds of doors and windows and I exclusively use this system it creates a great air tight seal Locks the units to the framing, it doesn’t expand excessively and cause any bowes in the sides I regularly leave the foam cans attached to the gun sometimes for months at a time and I don’t have any problems with the foam hardening up It works as if I was just using it Essentially the foam doesn’t know that it’s not in the can until it comes out of the end of the gun and is exposed to the airTIP. Whenever I change the cans I make sure to spray some foam just in case air got into the gun during the changeover

Be careful of breaking the top

I have been working on insulating my shop off and on over the past few months. So far out of about 20 cans on 4 different guns(the others where HD and Lowes purchases) of the door and windows cans, 2 of them have had the top snap while installing it in my gun. Out of 2 cleaner cans, 1 of them snapped also. It sucks when you end up with 15 bucks worth of foam in the trash can and had fun cleaning up the sticky mess. Overall the product is awesome, it's just poorly made for what you pay for the stuff. Be careful on the alignment when screwing them on or taking them off. The minute it cracks and shoots out foam, it won't stop until the can is empty.
