Pusa Basmati 1509 is the first early maturing Basmati rice variety with seed to seed maturity of only 120 days and average yield of 4.25 to 6.5 tonne/ hectare . Pusa Basmati 1509 is a semi-dwarf (95-100 cm).Basmati rice variety with sturdy stem and height ranging from 95 - 100 cm. It takes115-120 days for seed to seed maturity, the shortest duration for any Basmati rice variety released so far. Pusa Basmati 1509 can help saving upto 5-6 irrigations (about 33% saving of irrigation water) Seed is necessary before sowing Two ways of – 1. 2. based 1. – Wash with water. Make slurry of cow dung and cow urine .Mix in slurry and rub with hands just to coat them with thin slurry layer. Make a cloth pouch or bag and place coated in it and tie it properly.Maintain moisture of bag by sprinking water on it when required . When got germinated ,they are ready for sowing. Make nursery bed and sow germinated in that. After 25 days trans seedlings. 2. based – Fill a tub with 5 liter water and add 20 gms carbendazim and rest this mixture for half an hour. Add 1 gm stroptocycline in this mixture . Add 10 kgs of in this mixture and rest for 24 hours. Make a cloth pouch or bag and place these treated in it and tie it properly. Maintain moisture of bag by sprinking this mixture water on it when required When got germinated ,they are ready for sowing. Make nursery bed and sow germinated in that. After 25 days trans seedlings.
