This is a DIY kit. Children can easily connect the parts easily. Automatic door is a very useful Kit for Many projects. It consists of a Gear motor, Rack, Pinion, Rack guide, door, Commutator etc. The Rack is fixed inside the Rack guide. Connect the door with the end of the rack. The pinion is connected with the gear motor(60 RPM) and with the Rack so that when the gear motor is rotated, the rack will move forward or reverse. The gear motor is powered by two AA batteries through a commutator. The commutator changes the polarity of the motor. The house is not included with the kit. To demonstrate this experiment, switch on the kit. Press the left lever in the commutator. The gear motor is rotated in the forward direction and thus it operates the rack to close the door. Now press the right lever in the commutator. The gear motor is rotated in the reversed direction and thus it operates the rack to open the door. In this kit, the commutator can be replaced by a sensor with driver module. Sensors like IR sensor, Smoke sensor, Alcohol sensors can be used in different projects.
