Worth the money!
Fun for kids: I bought this for my son’s 12th birthday in hopes to give him something other than video games or more screen time, and it was a hit. All his friends were super excited and couldn’t wait to set up the game. They played several hours during daylight and then played a while longer in the dark. Everyone loved it and it was super easy to set up. Battery life: So far it lasted several hours without dying we charged them once the kids were done so they would be ready for the next time so we never ran them completely dead. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I went with this set due to it being rechargeable. Most other options had many reviews about using up tons of batteries so this seemed worth the try and so far we are super happy with it. I will say the charging wires for the chest plates are small and seem like if not carefully removed each time they could break easily, but we have told the kids to leave them on the charger until we get them so hopefully they will last longer. Over all very happy with the product

So much fun!
We have had this set for over a year now and it is one of our favorite games! My kids are still young (5 & 2.5) and they love it. The battery lasts long and charging is easy and convenient! We tell all of our friends to ask for this for gifts because the whole family loves it!

Great quality. Works awesome
These are actually awesome for the price. My son loves it. Even great for adults. Quality is great. Might be my favorite toy I've gotten for my son (4) on Amazon. If you are looking for Lazer tag get this one.

Easy to setup for hours of fun
We bought 2 sets of this for my son and his friends. Thinking it might not survive the aggressive play. The Hero Squad 2.0 has surpassed what I thought about home laser tag equipment and to be honest by the end of the month, I believe I will purchase more sets of this because now all the kids want to come over and play. The guns are easy to pair with the vest. The guns have color on them but that does not necessarily mean that they are on that color team. The real team color will actually light up throughout the gun and vest. We did have a minor charging issue where it acted as if it wouldn't charge while on the dock. We disconnected it all even from the wall, played with the unit and when we put it back on the charger it connected without issue. One feature I enjoyed is that there are 4 different kinds of firing mode each with different strength levels. For instance, if you use pistol mode, its accurate within 30-40 feet, and it only takes one life away and you can fire quickly. But in AR mode the rounds are further apart, its more accurate at longer distances and it takes two lives away. Then my favorite is what I call "sniper mode" where you can shoot up to 100-130 feet accurately, it takes 3 lives away at contact, but there is a longer reload time. Hero Squad 2.0 has been fun for all ages. My goal is to add to the two sets we have, and play capture the flag with two teams of 8. The parents occasionally will join the "fight" in disbelief of how good the connectivity is. And they are usuall impressed. My little kids (ages 3-6) will run throughout the house playing and by the end of the day they have tired themselves out. One thing I wish this offered is an app to see who's in and who is out of the round. But no company offers that at this point. In silent mode a team can lose all their lives, turn the system off and restart it and no one would know that they were "out."

Compared to other sets, choose this one.
I have had multiple sets of laser tag now. Between armo gear and these. I will say these are a lot better than the rechargeable armo gear set. I will do a pro and con list between those two sets. The armo gear set didn't link gun and vest, so if your vest lost all lives you could still shoot with the gun. Not the case with this laser tag set, you have to link the gun to a vest to play. When your are out, your out. Your vest flashes and gun turns off so it holds everyone to a stricter honor code Armo gear had IR transmitter in the vest AND gun, made it a lot easier to hit opposing players. This set only has it in the vest. We had to make rules of "no shooting behind cover" "no shooting with your vest covered" etc. But once those become a common theme you learn to accept it. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5. Functions, both sets has essentially the same gun features (handgun, machine gun, laser (shotgun on armo hero), and rocket. Armo gear did a good time with the power of the selected "gun" and reload time. For example if you used rockets, you had to wait for the sound effect to be done before reloading. Making a much slower fire rate than other gun modes. This set you can reload instantly and barrage rockets, which can be a pro or a con depending on your playing style. The guns are armo gear other than the extra IR, didn't have anything else super impressive. The squad hero set had a lcd screen showing your lives left, gun selection, and how much ammo you have in your clip way easier than guessing, or having to look down and check your vest everytime your hit The vests are where this set realllllyyyy shines, like stated before you need to link gun and vest, while doing so before or after choosing team, you get about a 10 second window to select your lives via 2 buttons on the back of the vest. It goes to 15 automatically, but you can adjust down to 1 life, up to 99. It made it way more fun, we could change our lives to make different games more fun, wether we played team deathwatch (we chose 20 lives) or capture the flag (5 lives) or juggernaut (15 for everyone and 50 for the juggernaut). It made it way more interactive. Also a major plus for me, I was able to give my 4 year a healthy enough handicap that he didn't get out in 30 seconds because frankly, 14 year olds don't discriminate when it comes to laser tag. So while everyone was on 20, I put my son on 30-40 to let him enjoy playing more. It's never fun to be the first one out everytime. Overall, beside the extra IR transmitter armo gear has in the gun, this set pretty easily blows the other set out of the water in my opinion due to all of the features and live customization.

Absolutely love this. My grandson age 6, my son age 42 and myself age 60 play this and the laughs never stop. And it’s all rechargeable no going through batteries

4.5 Stars - Best set available.
Second set. Best set available. Great features, flexible team play options, good vest adjustment, and fun sounds. Would give it 4.5 Stars on two accounts - the main issue is the game/death reset challenge and the suggested lack of overcharge protections (manual says don't leave on the charger more than 24 hrs.). After losing your lives and/or completing the game, you have to go through the entire setup process again, which is an utter pain. A third annoyance is the life counter adjustment; you can't press and hold to increase the lives, but have to push the button 80+ times to reach 99.

Best Gift Ever
So much fun! We purchased this for our 10-year-old son for Christmas, it is probably the best gift we have ever given him. He wants to play laser tag all the time. Our entire family joins in. It is very easy to set up to play. The charge lasts a very long time. I like that it does not require batteries. It was a great purchase!

Bought two packs for extra fun, and it worked!
Was very very popular with our party attendees (kids and adults) - bought 2 kits (so 8 guns) which also worked well. The only thing I'd like to add is an app that does summaries of who hit who etc. even better if it was live. Oh, I wouldn't mind a weak laser targeting option too, that'd be fun.

Absolute fun for kids and adults alike
Ok so far, these things have been awsome. Kids and I have used them approximately 5 times, with no troubles. Plenty of users mention the annoyance with having to reset after games are over. Yes thats a bit of a pain, but come on. Teach your spoiled rotten little brats how to do it themselves. My 4 yr old can do it by herself. The charging stations are absolutely fantastic. Battery life is surprisingly long. If I could make any suggestions to the game developers, it'd be to come out with some accessories. Some add on lasers would be awsome. These things need to be aimed in order to score a hit. A 4 yr old doesn't have the greatest aim. Another accessory that would be awsome would be a revive box that could be kept at each teams spawn point. Something you could shoot to get your lives back. It'd take this game from unorganized chaos, to pure organized fun. Either way though, these things are well worth the purchase.
