Excellent Radio At A Great Price!
This is an excellent quality radio at a great price. It is well built with solid construction throughout. The default display color is blue and matches that of my Galaxy radio that sits next to it. Together they look super cool. The default display brightness is just right out of the box. No adjustments were needed. The speaker audio quality is very good, loud and clean even at max volume. The microphone audio quality is also very good. I've received good reports over the air. With a 12 amp power supply this radio puts out the advertised 10/25/45 watts. 45 watts is the default power level and the power level can be set for each channel. Programming this radio manually is very easy. The PL tones and off-set frequencies are easy to set. Once you get the hang of it the rest is a breeze. No need to use the software or data cable included. I use this radio for GMRS so I only programmed 30 channels leaving 170 channels for scanning other frequencies on UHF. Those other frequencies can be set to TX-OFF to prevent accidental transmissions on them. The scanning function is easy to start and stop. It also has a channel lockout setting. You can name each channel with up to seven characters. Overall, I can't find anything to complain about this radio. I'm very pleased with it. Retevis did a great job on the RT-9000D.

Decent Low cost transceiver
The transceiver works good. It is a decent transceiver at a low cost. The receive pick up a little more noise than a more expensive transceiver. The transmit seems to work fine. I have had good reports on my signal and audio quality. There isn't a whole lot of activity on this band so for what I paid for it I am Happy.

Good GMRS radio for the money
this is a good GMRS united states complient radio. no weather channels no other bands but they do not advertise as such and that makes it legal. I have used this enough hours to feel it is solid. audio from speaker is good, not great. I get good feedback on my transmit audio out. would buy it again if I just wanted GMRS. my ventures are leaning toward ham and for emergency purposes I need at least weather bands.

--UPDATE -Received Good Replacement Radio-- Smoke from vents seconds after power on
The media could not be loaded. Started smoking from the vents and mounting points within seconds of powering it up/before keying.Didn't blow the fuse so must have been a small internal component. Display remained on but obviously did not test.Been a HAM for a long time and this is my first experience where a radio failed that quickly.Submitted return and hoping this is a fluke, took a chance on exact same replacement so if new radio works will update review.--UPDATE--Replacement arrived in ~two days (don't know if that's a good thing or not-did they expect failure???).New radio was packaged much better and seems good so far (pwr up) out of the box. Took CHIRP programming ok; could not get Retevis software to work. Will run power and use test and provide more info - 73--UPDATE 2--Power output was ~59 Watts at middle (legal use) of 1.25 Meter Band and ~58 Watts at top and bottom which is pretty good. Overall ease of use and quality is good for the price - not much selection available in this band. No SSB but one would have to spend allot of money just to get into SSB on this band or use a transverter. Luckily there is a good amount of 220MHz traffic in my area and was able to make contact about 40 miles away not problem 5/9.I would recommend purchasing especially at the $159 price point just be sure to check function/pwr up as soon as it arrives.

Radio Stopped Receiving (Now Replaced)
This company is nearly impossible to deal with. The radio quit receiving within the two year warranty and they don't appear to have local (US) service. When I explain that the radio has no receive audio they ask for a video. How do you take a video of a receiver not receiving. I could point my phone at the radio and just wait for it to not receive. Then they tell me that the microphone might be defective, causing no receive? I believe that much is lost in translation but if you are going to serve the US market you need to communicate in English. Since there is no reasonable warranty service I will either try my hand at a repair or just dispose of it. It wasn't a bad radio until it was. I would suggest that you look elsewhere if you can find another 220 radio.Still emailing with this company. They are making a game of warranty so my advice is stay away, they have no warranty repair that I can find. They also apparently have no repair parts available. Now a month later I still receive a almost daily email from Angela Lee stating how sorry they are that I am having problems with their radio but still no agreeable solution. I believe that Angela Lee is just a name used by multiple people in their sales/service ?? office. I have had multiple solutions offered but no follow through. I have decided to stick to my decision to continue to discuss the issue until resolution or none. I am reluctant to ship my radio back "to who knows where" with no guarantee of repair even though my original intent was to just send it in for service until I figured out they have no service. The loss of this radio will not impact my financial being but apparently their potential loss would have a impact on their stability. How can you claim 2 year warranty with no means to provide service or parts available? I was involved in communications service for over 50 years and we always gave out customers the benefit of the doubt, maybe that why we lasted so long.Final Note: The company replaced my defective radio with a new one. They say that there may be much lost in the fact that English is a second language for them. I agree that it certainly contributes to the confusion and lack of communications. In the end they did the right thing and honored their two year warranty. Thank You.

Good Value for 220 Mhz Works Great
My Buddy's and I have many of these. They work perfect for whatever you need on 220 mhz. Plus for $130 bucks shipped and just about the only player in town for that freq. Try and beat it!!! They work great!!! If they break, can them get another!!!
