Bought a second for my harley.
Well I bought one a few months back for my yamaha v star and thought it did a great job at a cheap price so I thought I would try it on my harley while adding some 2 ohm upgraded speakers to my fairing. Well so far I am not at all disappointed, I believe if you ran this amp wide open it will destroy your speakers unless they are 200 watt rms. My speakers are 100 watt rms and I have to dial the amp back a bit. The amp will also get hot if you overdrive it, wide open gain and wide open volume, but it has never failed. For under 50 bucks there is no way you can beat this deal. It really does sound great and will drive four channels equally. It also comes with a 3.5mm stereo jack insert you can mount on your bike in your fairing, and the amp external volume control you can also mount on your fairing. Its not really meant to be a volume control, but a gain control that you should set and leave it be. control your volume on your radio. I just can't say enough good things about this amp for that price. I would buy it again and again. Have two now.

Do the math...then buy something else!
Very disappointed in this amp. First indicator was the 10A fuse...I'm no electrician, but if I remember correctly, amps x volts = watts, so 12-14v x 10a = 120-140w...not anywhere near the stated 400. My suspicions were confirmed after quickly hooking it in to my existing system. My kenny HU is rated to 4x50, and I get significantly higher volume running speakers directly off the HU than by introducing this amp to power the same speakers. Before anyone asks, yes, I adjusted the input and output gains on the amp. I suppose this amp could be worthwhile if being used in conjunction with an mp3 player to eliminate the need for a HU at all, however, because of the blatant lie in the description about it's power rating confirmed by the significantly quieter volume when compared to a reputable internal amp rated at half this amps proclaimed power, I give one star and suggest that the advertising be corrected to reflect the product's actual capability. I will note that, if advertised for what it actually is, this would be a good deal and I did not note an unacceptable level of distortion even at this amp's max power. So, as far as a 35x4 water resistant amp goes, this thing is great! But it's advertised as 100x4, which is nothing but a gross misrepresentation and will lead to significant disappointment by anyone who purchases it.

Perfect small amplifier for my golf cart
Looking to upgrade the sound on my EV/Golf Cart and used to power 2 additional speakers. Easy install for this novice and my speakers sound great!

Great for the price
I bought this originally thinking I'd be able to drive my 4 Polk DXi 5.25's. The listing indicates the AMP will produce 4x100 watts RMS at 4 ohms. I can tell you factually that value is WILDLY overstated. I suspected to power output to be closer to 40watts a channel. The system works simply as a converter for my MP3 player. I am using it in my motorcycle fairing, so the added volume was key to my purchasing this kit. It seems there are three or four different brands of this same unit. I ended up buying a alpine KTP-445 (I think that's what it was) in line amplifier that actually drives the speakers. When I had just the Pyle amp installed the system seemed to max out at about 2/3rds volume, no matter where I had any of the gain's or MP3 equalizer settings set. If I tried to push full volume, the sound would distort something awful (as expected at maximum power) without getting a whole lot louder. The sound was easily washed out at any speed over 35-40mph on my motorcycle. I was disappointed for sure. The bright spot: Because the amplifier is so laughably underpowered (as compared to the claims) the signal output to the speakers is closer to that of a factory stereo unit, this meant that with no further modification I could install a in line amplifier (like the one I posted above) and have a clear signal to the speakers. It was only AFTER I installed the aftermarket amplifier in line that I appreciated the pyle unit for what it was. . . a means to convert MP3 signal to speaker leads with a volume control. That's all it's good for. The 100 watt x4 channels, well I'd be very curious to know how they figured those values. If you use this kit to simply convert signal, without expectation of needing further amplification, this will most likely meet your needs. If you think this kit will provide you with everything you need to power speakers and hear them while moving, it might not work for you.

It's small. Needs longer leads.
OK, so first impressions:*It's. Tiny.*It's neatly wired.*It has a very solid feel to it.I was looking for a small amp to drive the component speakers, the requirements were that I didn't want to run big gauge cables and deal with a traditional amp in my car. This fit into a space *under* the dash. Close enough to the radio that I didn't need to run more speaker wire to tap into the stock wiring. So it allowed me a neat and clean installation.I have a few complaints, the fuse housing on the power lead. IT'S HUGE. Working in the confined space under the dash was made far more difficult thanks to its placement so close to the amp. The power, antenna, and ground wires are too short. I wanted another 6 inches on them through the entire install. Because they were short it took a lot of work to get the tools into the space after it was mounted to crimp wire butts.Aside from that it sounds good. Not as bassey as one would hope, but that's not what it was for really. I don't think it's actually 100w RMS, if I were guessing I'd say it's closer to 33w or so. Which is fine. The Kenwood media deck I'm using is gutless at the best of times so this gave it the oomph I was looking for.Given that its economic and small I'd recommend this for anyone with an underpowered deck pushing anything beyond stock. Though my mazdas stock 25w speakers sounded fine with it too. YMMV.
