Best two line
I waited a year for a better two-line cordless phone. This is the best two-line phone I have ever found, and I love the idea of having a wired phone on the base as a backup.

Nice phone bundle for the price.
I needed a 2 line phone for my business and this is a good option. I am able to record 10 phone numbers quick access on the base. I have not connected a cell phone. You do hear a little static when on dial tone. Once you are dial out or get a call there is no static. I have not figured out how to put someone on hold from the handset but I just use the mute button. The handsets ring volume is not very loud. The tone is loud on the handset. Not a bad product to buy for a small business.

satisfactory solution
It is a very good evolution of the earlier two-line phones. There is still a need for houses or offices with two lines. The phone can include two cellphones through bluetooth, and if reception in the house is good, this helps. Unfortunately the cellphone inclusion has made the hold process more complicated. In principle you can see calls through your computer using an outlook add in, but for me this was not practical. At any rate, this replaced an older set, and the range is satisfactory.

DON'T purchase this phone if you expect to use bluetooth capability with it! Company won't honor warranty.
DON'T purchase this unit, or their "newer" KX-TG9541 or 42! I purchased two of the KX-TG9582B telephones. I have them in two different states. I have been using a BlueParrot vxi Roadwarrior B250-XT headset on both sets since I purchased them. This is NOT a cheap headset. A lot of truckers use them. The headset paired up on both phones with no problem. I've been using these headsets for 11 MONTHS without an issue. A few weeks ago, I was trying to disconnect my headset from the base. The base made this horrible screeching sound and I picked up the handset and put it down; the noise stopped. But the headset was no longer paired with the base. I have tried EVERYTHING to re-pair my headset with the phone base. Mind you, I used to be a telephone technician, so trouble shooting is something I know how to do. I cleared any and all blue tooth devices from the base, unplugged it, tried to pair it using the menu buttons and the menu # commands too. I've read the manual for the headset and cleared ALL pairing on that too. Waited for correct beeps, etc. I finally called Panasonic today, and if you're lucky to find an actual telephone number, good luck. (800-405-0652) I talked to their service department. I told them everything above. All they did was re-read the manual with me. I told them I'd like to have it fixed since the warranty runs out next month. Well, since my headset it not on their tiny "approved" headset list, they refuse to honor the warranty. When I explained I had been using this headset for 11 months, they told me it must have been a fluke and some will pair up with it then stop working. What???? After searching the internet on ways to correct this problem I found something very interesting. Bluetooth pairing is what they call a "backwards compatibility." This means both units have to talk to each other in the same language; simple explanation. The newest version of bluetooth pairing which came out last year is 4.1. Some cell phone companies are even using versions 4.3 or newer. Well guess what? Even Panasonic's "newer" version of this telephone is only using version 2.1 which came out in 2007. 2007!!???? So, like many others on this review board, I find myself with a phone, in warranty, and Panasonic won't honor the warranty because my headset is NOT on their list, even though I KNOW its the phone base that has the problem. So, now I'm stuck with two of these phones and a total of seven cordless handsets. Probably a total cost of $700.00. I wish they would make this known on the purchase site before you decide to buy a phone that has ancient bluetooth compatibility! Wake up Panasonic and update your software!!! I won't be buying another Panasonic product again.

Best cordless phone system I have used
This is a great phone system! One of the best features, that I wasn't even aware of until they arrived, is that the phones don't use the typical battery packs that are impossible to find or too expensive to replace. These phones use normal, NiMH rechargeable AAA! I buy new cordless phone systems every 3 years because the phones won't hold a good charge anymore and the replacement battery packs cost more than new phones (if you can even find them). The fact that these phones use normal, easily replaceable batteries is a huge deal for me. That one feature alone makes up for the slightly higher cost of entry because I'll make up for it in a 3 years, but these phones also have great features and work very well that also make the price worth it. With all of the features that these phones come with, I don't foresee the need to replace the phone system for a very, very long time.Adding new handsets to the system is incredibly simple. There are some features that are more complicated to use that you will have to reference the manual for, but that's only because it can do so much. Basic functions are easy and intuitive. Call quality is good. The Link2Cell feature was a requirement for me, and it works well. The cordless range is very good, even without the optional extender. If you have a wired headset plugged into the headset jack, then you cannot use the speakerphone. I was hoping to leave a headset hooked up to the phone for longer calls, but use the speakerphone for shorter calls, and that doesn't work well. The speakerphone quality is okay. The microphone picks up people on the other side of the room, which is good for me, but could be bad for others. I haven't actually been on the other side of a speakerphone call, but my wife tells me it echoes a bit, but that could be because I have it mounted on the wall.Overall, I am very pleased with this phone system and very glad I purchased it. I fully expect to use it for 10 years or more.
