Q: I am confused, do you soak the seeds and then plant in soil or do you have to wait until they have sprouted to plant?

You don't have to soak them at all before you've planted them. You can, if you want, grow them in a shallow pan in just water. They will sprout, at which time you can use them as you like. I grow mine for my chickens, so I scratch up a patch of dirt, toss some seed down, lightly cover with soil, then water. It doesn't take a lot of watering, They will sprout up from the dirt in just a few days. Same with growing them in water. Very easy to grow. Don't hesitate to experiment with different methods to see what works best for you. If you are growing them for personal consumption, only grow as much as you are going to use as soon as they are big enough to harvest. You can stagger your crops so you always have some ready to use. And, Consumer Reports strongly suggests you rinse well and lightly cook sprouts to be sure to kill any bacteria.

According to the packaging, it's "100% certified organic, NON-GMO hard red wheatgrass seed. Hope this helps.

Q: Can I grow pea shoots

These sprouted for me. They grew a few inches (for the cat) but I didn't try growing full plants. It's wheatgrass, so it grows ... wheat. To grow peas, one would need peas to sprout. If you want wheat sprouts (wheatgrass) then this worked for me.

Although the seeds were slightly smaller while in the bag than some others I have used , they expanded when soaked and 100 percent sprouted. Grew well and I will buy again. Excellent price.

My chickens love it.. I sprout the seeds and fill up all my hanging baskets and plant containers and use for my chickens. My girls don't free range because of our hawks eagles and destruction of yard. So I bring the yummy grass to them. Ordering another bag..lasts for several months maybe a year..3 hens

Sprouted in Two days

I use this to feed my worms. Soak the seeds for 24 hrs then sprinkle onto wet topsoil/peat mix then cover with dusting of peat. Within three days have a thick root mat that I feed my worms. Does great. Saves money on worm chow.
