Nice, inexpensive and comes quickly
This is a very nice inexpensive drill. It came overnight so that was a plus.

Perfect for my needs
I got sick of the battery recharging routine of my old drill and bought this corded one to replace it. My only use for an electric drill is around the inside and outside of my own house, so a corded drill works fine for me. This drill was VERY reasonably priced and works great!

Gorilla hands
Delivered on time, package intact, no missing parts, instructions clear, assembly went well until…The instructions say to use either a hand drill or screwdriver to attach the desk top to the frame. What it doesn’t say is that is takes the hand strength of a gorilla if you choose to use the screwdriver.I have arthritis, and my grip isn’t what it used to be, but in my best day it would still have been a struggle.I doubt an electric screwdriver or a lightweight battery operated drill has the torque to do the job.So, if you don’t have a medium duty, variable speed drill or better, it looks like you will have to make a second purchase in order to complete assembly of this desk, unless you have a good neighbor who would lend you his drill.

very happy
It don't pay to buy a high priced 1. I have a 1/2 and a 3/8 but use 3/8 the most. There are many things that can go wrong. The last 1 the chuck seased up. checked on replacing but the cost and pain to replace easier to get a new drill.

Easy to use, steady and easy bit change
I LOVE this drill. It's my 1st one ever. I had to watch a 30 second video on how to use the chuck but after that, it's home free!! I used it for flat head, phillip and hex screws on DIY projects. It's perfect. Now the drill bits I ordered that were rubber on the outside stripped down in no time flat!! Get steel or other type of metal bits. This drill works well.Oh, if you find that the chuck stopped spinning, it may be because the bit got too hot. If you pause for 3 secs and start back drilling, it will too. Have fun!!!!

Screwless in Santa Cruz
Purchased item as a lighter option than my Dewalt cordless for little jobs around the house. First day of use I was setting a screw, and the product just stopped. I tried to use it a while later and it was dead. When i received the package, the box was in a shipping bag and the product was loose in the bag, I believe I was sent a previously returned item.

Genesis GD38B ~ Too Good To Be True?
I read about this drill on other websites and reviews from other buyers made it sound "Too good to be true." So I ordered one from Amazon.com with free shipping to try out and compare with other drills in my workshop. So far I have nothing but good things to say about this drill, but I haven't had it long enough to really give it a thorough workout. Time will tell, but the importing company, (Richpower Industries in South Carolina), backs up the product with a 2 year warranty which is great for a drill like this. For me, the Genesis drill has a really nice feel to it, well balanced and easy to hold onto thanks to the rubber grip along the back side of the handle. The trigger is large enough for two fingers and offers a nice "two fingered" control, rather than the usual single finger trigger design which makes it easier to maintain the desired speed. The variable speed range is excellent, from the super slow "barely turning" speed all the way up to 3,000 rpm which is really nice for a VSR 3/8" drill.Maybe I'm just used to all my other drills, but this one is much quieter than most plug-in power drills. Only my rechargeable drill is quieter, and not really by all that much. The Genesis also seems smoother to me, maybe because the others are getting old and the bearings are wearing out. But still, it has a quality feel to it when in use, and plenty of power to bore through any material you would subject a well made 3/8" VSR drill to punch through. There were some reviews that made the keyless chuck sound flimsy, but so far it seems very well made and easy to use. I dropped in a 3/4" paddle bit, just snugged the chuck by hand and I easily punched through a 2" thick piece of oak, and my bit wasn't even all that sharp. The chuck securely bites onto any size bit and is easy to grip for a quick release.Although the motor is only rated at 4.2 amps it feels much more like the 8 amp drills and offers more than enough torque for any job you'd need a 3/8" drill to accomplish. I can see where it would be easy to use this drill on bigger jobs that normally call for my 1/2" drill, so I'll need to be careful that I don't "over apply" its use for jobs where the 1/2" would be the proper choice.I hope this drill holds up well over the years as I really like it. For now, I'm giving it a full 5 Star rating, and my hopes are that it doesn't let me down. I will be giving it some good hard tests over the next few months and will update my review if anything changes, but for now and for only $29.99, it seems like a drill "Too Good To Be True".***Review Update***I am dropping my rating of this drill down to 3 stars. The reason for this is due to the chuck allowing the bit to slip when drilling through metal and I'm referring to metal that's less than 1/8" thick. I feel that a fairly powerful 3/8" drill like this should be able to punch through standard metal up to 1/4", but this chuck doesn't allow me to do that - it just spins around the bit no matter how hard I try to tighten it. For now, I'm using my 1/2" drill with a keyed chuck to drive through heavier metals and it works great. It's just disappointing the Genesis doesn't perform well for basic metals, and I am even using new Cobalt bits. Just don't expect this drill to get a good, hard bite on your drill bits.
