Excellent value for the price
I wasn't expecting a lot from this controller so it exceeded my expectations. Great starter unit. Has about a dozen good light patterns in various color combinations plus several music settings. The mounting ears split when I screwed it down but otherwise was OK. It handled over 100 feet of WS2811 LEDs connected to a 300 watt power supply. Bluetooth connection is a bit finicky but Android app works fine. Not much control over lighting but for the price this little thing was impressive. I haven't found anything with a better reputation without spending a lot more money. Better than "good enough".

Works pretty well, once you get past bugs
Be sure to download the correct app: LED Chord - the wrong one is listed somewhere. Works as described, although the app is pretty amateurish - you have a spinner that you have to rotate to access all of the patterns. Why not just a numeric entry field you can type into, with +/-1 and +/- 10 buttons? Even better, since most patterns are just repeated with a different color, give me one control to pick the pattern, and another the color variation? Then I could select the pattern 10x faster. Also needs a favorite/memory function to store your favorites in a short list. A notes field would be a bonus. As others have noted, eventually the app disconnects from the lights - WITHOUT ANYNOTICE. No amount of refreshing the device list will fix it. This probably leads to most of the negative reviews come up and returned devices because people just starting with it think it's broken, not realizing the connection has failed. The only solution I found was to go into the android task list and kill the app. Then when I reopen it and re select the 107 device, it reconnects again, quickly.

Worth the price and then some.
These are the best music controllers I have found on Amazon. They include all the same effects as the WiFi version but also has numerous music effects. With that said - these controllers are meant for large amounts of individually addressable LEDs so I don’t recommend them for a strip with less than 50 LEDs. These controllers are at their best potential with a large amount of LEDs and won’t show their true pattern capabilities if you are using an older light strip. You’ll definitely want to buy some upgraded light strips from BTF to get the most out of these controllers. I have 2 controllers on the same system so I get multiple effects at the same time.

Don't use VCC voltage output to lights....
There was no instructions to supply separate power supply for led lights. I hooked the unit up and blew out a whole roll of lights. The unit says it supports a range of input voltage. Beware that whatever voltage is provided will be passed through to the LED lights. In my case I was running 12v to the controller and my lights were only rated for 5v. I assumed it was a regulated supply for the led strip. Based off of my experience the unit works as described otherwise but labeling could be better or warning in the instructions would have been helpful.

First controller for my bike leds strip.
Used this little controller on 2 strings of WS2812b’s I put on my bike for light rides. Didn’t know how it would work but since it was recommended I went with it. Easy to understand on the hookup. Just now starting to play with options. So far I want to understand how the streaming works. Since I haven’t been able to reverse the “flow” I would like to put the controller at the “front” of the bike and have the streams run from front to back. This controller needs USB power 5 volts. I use a small power bank that has many power options. USB is one of them. The app is easy to use but as far as I know it is not programmable.

The is NOT a Spectrum Analyzer, just a poor light show on LED Panels.
First thing to note is that this is NOT a Spectrum Analyzer as advertised, it is a light show only, pretty poor one at that if you are using panels. 1. It says can do 960 pixels, well with panels it maxes out at 512 Pixels if using 2 x 8*32 (64 Segments total,) or 484 Pixels if using a single 11x44 panel. 2. The SP107e has a stereo 3.5mm Jack, but only reads the right Channel, so it is missing half the music when it should have just mixed both channels into mono. When I tried a Stereo to Mono adapter, it would not recognize any audio at all. 3. Frequency range of this is all over the place. On a panel it seems to go from about 50 Hz to about 4 KHz, and then bounce back in the opposite direction, then again and again; so you have 4 difference frequency layers displaying at the same time in the same area. (So on the left on mine it has 0hz and 10 KHz, and the Right side of the display, 10 and 20 KHz.) The SP107e should adjust the frequency table for the number of segments (Columns) that you enter in the configuration. The width of the frequency sweep on vertical pixels is allover the place too, unless you have the input volume very low, but then if you do music it is barely displayed. 4. I have two units working in stereo, and both have different settings for the same-ish results (I cannot get them exactly the same), so manufacturing tolerances seem to be horrid. One unit has to have sensitivity set to off, and the other to about 5 percent to get the same input level through the 3.5mm Jack. The Microphones are not even close on both units. Also, both units seem to operate at different speeds, making one look slow and lame. Also depending on the input level, you will have random pixels light up even when no sound is being used. Every time I power up my unit, the Right display seems to have different input levels even though nothing has changed. The app uses slider scales for colors and brightness, so if using more than one unit (which you have to set up one at a time, it is very difficult to get the same result on both units.) Should have an option for RGB value, you know for the RGB LED’s. Finally, when setting these up with the 8x32 LED panels, it says they use 75 watts each which they can if run at blinding maximum brightness. Here, my two panels and two controllers are using less than 4 watts altogether, and that is in a bright room and behind speaker cloth. Oh and the app has no mirror mode either. So you would have to flip the display if you want to use two units in stereo. Finally I have contacted the author of the app but did not get a reply back to see if the controllers are firmware upgradable through BT. I am guessing not. The two videos will give you an idea of the issues with these panels. I have no idea why these videos are being compressed so much. ** Update ** Since writing this review, I found that when first sold the SP107e was using a STM32F Arm CPU, and now they are using a much slower and less Capable GD32E230 Arm CPU which they did not mention. This is why the response time on my left panel is much faster. They do not tell anyone about this though. This is also why some configurations in the App are not allowed, because hardware divide on the new GD chip is much slower to implement. So when the new chip is only allowed 1250 ticks per pixel to calculate sound, color and all, and then is using 17 ticks per each divide compared to the STF chip which ran twice as fast and can do divide in as little as 2 ticks, it explains why the SP107e is, well not good. What companies will do to make more money without telling you.
