This particular style of hat, as far as I'm concerned, is owned by Barmah and Conner...they both do it best, of course with Barmah using real Kangaroo, and the other using bison. For a little over 100 dollars, the quality is supreme. I had to look hard for imperfections on the surface (completely hoping to find some, for the cool factor) as we're told these are made by the rough life of the Kangaroo...fighting each-other, and to survive. (obviously they lost that last battle, with a tanner) Absolutely supple, symmetrical, and although wadding them up does nothing to disform them permanently, I still would never fold mine up, whereas my wife just had to, to keep them honest. Not even a wrinkle! I have a huge melon and I'm used to hats not fitting true to my size...2xl. This one fit perfect...no stretching needed. A few days later and it had already settled-in to my head shape...so super comfortable. If I have a complaint, it would only be that don't sew-in eyelets for the string, if you choose to add your favorite style. Not crazy about jamming something through the sweatband. I've seen a couple complaints out around the net about them being a little "floppy"...not been the case, at all. I guess if you stood in a 40 MPH wind it may get a wee floppy, but so would my eyelids! I mean, they can't be rigid AND fold down to pack away. Some folks just need to complain. Very well made hat, it a world full of lousy hats. Can you buy something nicer?...maybe, I guess, but certainly not at this price. I needed something to replace a military issued pony hat I had for 20 years which my dog chewed up. The 20 years of sweat sand and blood the hat basically stood on its own in this shape. Every boony I bought since seems just limp. I decided to go with barmah. I love this style it provides the shade I like and just not look like a Western hat. I also have one in bronco leather which is made in Minnesota. I feel that has a little higher quality. However the kangaroo leather is extremely pliable and literally can be squished into a fairly small package popping right back to its original shape. I didn't like the synthetic feel of the sizer that comes included, so I ordered another hat in Medium, and will return the large. The crown is shorter than I expected, but it looks good and the hat keeps the sun off my face, which is what I wanted from this hat. It's beautifully made and looks cool too. **update** I didn't include in my original review, that in addition to being much larger than expected, the hat had several scratches on it. Upon receiving the medium I thought would fit, I realized that the first had I received had clearly been worn and stretched out quite a bit (hence the sizing seemed incorrect). The medium was much too small. So I decided to give it one more chance, and re-ordered the large. It's perfect! Arrived without a a single scratch, and fit correctly, according to the sizing I had originally used to determine my size. Obviously the first hat I received had been worn, and I believe the person must have intentionally tried to stretch it because it was at least a full size bigger than the brand new one I got.
