Review: good - good
Review: That the device arrived safely! - An excellent drive, typical Seagate. Ok, it deffo lacks the speed of an SSD, but an SSD cannot touch the Seagates storage capacity for the price I paid. Now my question was how the new Barracuda stood up against the old Barracuda with regards to read/write speeds. This was quite a surprise. The older model (version prior to using the eye catching green label). The older model was faster in both read and write operation's by about 20MB/sec. I couldn't be arsed setting up a raid config but I'm guessing we would still see the new drives being out performed by the older Drives. The price of the new 'Cuda' was for 2 TB a little over £50, or a little under £60, I have seen 4TB for 70 squid which is about the same as a 1TB SSD. Anyway, back to the Cuda. For the price if blistering speed aint that necessary and you just require quite a bit of storage the Seagate Barracuda will suffice with its lovely slim profile sitting noiselessly below my rather bulky WD Blue Label, The Barracuda serves a purpose and does it well. The thing remaining is reliability, hmmm. WTF, its a Seagate ffs, It'll prolly outlast me Ha, RECOMMENDED, 👍.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: if its 7mm doesn't thaat mean its to small for the ps4???? or is 9.5 mm the max sort of thing???**
A: 7mm is disk height, so it will fit normal 2.5 Inch bays, note that this disk versions:
* 500GB, 1T, 2T Height is 7.2mm.
* 3T, 4T & 5T Height is 15.5mm.
See: https://www.seagate.com/gb/en/internal-hard-drives/hdd/barracuda/#specs-2-5

**Q: Is it suitable for the PS4**
A: The PS4 will take the 500GB, 1TB or the 2TB drive as they are all 7mm drives. The 3TB, 4TB and 5TB are too thick to go internally as they are 15mm.

**Q: Will the 4gb version work as a PS4 replacement?**
A: Looks like the 4TB version (think you mean that) is 15mm thick and the size limit on the PS4 is 9.5mm so the answer would be no.

**Q: Does this have a warranty**
A: According to Seagate "The product you identified was sold as a system component. Please contact your place of purchase for service. Seagate sells many drives to direct OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers. These products are usually configured for the OEMs only, as components for their systems. You must contact your place of purchase for any warranty support on these drives"
