Both these I can fly easily indoors or outdoors in normal or expert mode. I was going to buy the camera version but then thought I would skip that version and buy the fpv version instead. It was well packaged with a nice small box for the quadcopter which would be useful for transporting it. Also a cover and prop spanner are provided. But no extra batteries. It is supplied with a more powerful 380mAh battery than the earlier models which gives 7-8 minutes flight time. Fitting the battery is much easier than with earlier models. It will also fly using the 340mAh batteries provided with the earlier models. The old 240mAh battery gives about 4 min flight time.However, initially it was a disaster! It would not hover, I could not trim it and it would not respond to the controls instead it shoots off uncontrollably. I had to do a factory reset. Now it flies just like the earlier models. You can also fly it with the transmitters from the original and upgraded Hubsan X4 versionsThe streamed video works well. After one flight the 4 duracel AA batteries in the transmitter are down to a quarter power already. But even though it reads a very low battery I have had 6 flights before I had to change the batteries. I have now bought rechargeable Ni batteries and these are working well.So far I find it impossible to fly by just looking at the video screen. I have to watch the copter in order to fly it and barely have time to look at the video screen while flying. It is nice to see the flight time and battery levels on the video screen. However, I usually switch the video on at the beginning of the flight and switch it off at the end of the flight. So I am still trying to decide whether it would have been better to buy the cheaper camera version without fpv.The transmitter is much larger than that supplied with the earlier 2 models. The buttons for taking pictures or switching video on or off are on the top of the transmitter. I find this very bad positioning as I have to take my fingers off the controls to use them. It would be much better to have them on the side. Unlike the Hubsan sky cruiser there is no sun screen for the video screen on the transmitter making it difficult to view in sunlight. The booklet says there is a plastic cover you can stick over the screen in sunlight in the box. I have not found this.If you are a Mac user there is a problem. This is because once a video is recorded my Mac would not read the SD card! I had to put it in a PC to read it. This appears only to be a problem if you are using a 2GB micro SD card. I upgraded to an 8GB card and it was read by the Mac. I found I had to format it in the transmitter if I wanted to do multiple recordings. Quicktime converts the avi files into mov videos which can be viewed on my Mac. Unfortunately the video format is short and wide (720x240). I am still trying to find a free Mac program to convert them to the 720 x 480 format. The free Flip player app does this very well but you have to by the pro version to save the converted file.Hubsan recommends you use a free video converter program to convert the recorded stretched videos to the correct 720x480 format. Unfortunately this is a PC program. I have not so far found a Mac equivalent.I have tried the pc-programs they recommend on my PC with no success.This is not a cheap product. The whole point of buying it is to record videos which you can easily play in a normal format. The failure to do this is a major flaw in this product.I will update this review again shortly.I have now bought the cheaper camera version(H107C) without fpv and I find that it records video in normal format!! Hubsan should supply a firmware update to improve the video recording on the fpv version.I will update this review again shortly.Flew both camera versions with and without fpv. I have to admit fpv is better as you can see what you are filming. Note the fpv version records video in blocs of 134.2 MB.
