I have no need or desire for an extension. If you require an extension, you should consider a Tripod! **Q: How long does the male 3/8"-16 threaded connection bolt stickup?** A: 1/4 to 1/2 inch is my visual assessment. **Q: Does the tripod work as a monopod alone?** A: Yes it would, it has an adapter to a 1/4” screw hole. **Q: Description states this stand supports 32lbs. Is that true or is it 3.2lbs? 32lb is a huge weight to load bearing ratio.** A: 32 lbs has the weight of a geared head and definitely requires the support of an heavy duty head.
