I had TKR. Wrapping this around my knee felt so much better than the standard ice machine wrap I was sent home with. Plus, the size is large enough I was able to angle a portion of it on the thigh bruise caused by the tournique. Sometimes I place it specifically on the tournique bruise. Tip: I return it to the freezer with a pillowcase enclosed in the bag. I use the pillow case as a layer between skin and gel pack if needed. Initially it seems cooler than the ice machine. After 20 minutes, I flip it over and get some more coolness out of it. Added benefit. My Golden Retriever likes to rest his head on it.
