Review: Only wish I'd found these sooner - We became cat owners in July, and a miasma arose from the (closed) garage trash can shortly thereafter. I began Seeking Answers. Experimenting with different litters helped the boxes but not the can. Putting charcoal in the bag, which worked well when the kids were in diapers, availed naught. By the end of September it smelled like a Superfund Site, and I was going through Lysol spray at alarming pace. I decided to try this Fresh Wave stuff because it's enough cheaper than a Litter Genie that I figured it was worth a shot before going that route. Boy am I glad I did. I attached it to the inside of the lid, where it has been mostly ignorable, and the difference it's made simply canNOT be exaggerated. Before it was unpleasant to be within ten feet of the can and opening it was an exercise in active gorge suppression. Now, there is a very very faint odor when the can is open, and when it's closed, very little is discernable beyond some of the Fresh Wave's own scent. It did take a couple of days to reach that point, but it's been holding steady since. I've only had it in there about ten days, so I can't yet comment on whether a packet of the stuff will last the advertised sixty days. If it falls much short of that, I'll update. Update, Day 26: I swapped in a new packet today, so it looks more like 30 days each, but given the givens, I'm well pleased. Update 01/09/23: The product is still working great, the little holder dealie ... not so much. It now pops open spontaneously within a few minutes, so I have to fasten it shut with something. I'm currently trying out a plain piece of wire. It's manageable, and this isn't a terribly expensive product so I'm willing to manage it, but it's something to be aware of.
Review: Odd scent but it works - Kind of strange scent, but it does a good job of covering up odor in a doggy diaper pail of wet wraps. The plastic holder is kind of flimsy and I've had it pop open a couple times and drop the scent packet into the wet diapers.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this fit in my Diaper genie?**
A: Yes. The Fresh Pod (the plastic holder for the Fresh Wave Pack) will fit in a Diaper Genie. It comes with an adhesive backing and can be stuck to the Diaper Genie's sides, or to the inside of the lid/top.

--Fresh Wave

**Q: Is the scent too strong?**
A: No, I would say the original fragrance is pretty potent but this one is fairly light. I prefer it better. We use this in our Diaper genie.

**Q: Will this eliminate the odor of dog poop that sits for a week in a trash can in the garage...in the heat? My garage smells horrible!**
A: The pod will help odors in the trash can itself, however to remove odors from the garage, we recommend the Fresh Wave Gel. Each Gel works up to 200 sq feet and will remove any airborne odors that may be lingering from the feces!

**Q: Where can I buy additional refills?**
A: Amazon.com has the refills. I know this because I just purchased some.

Kind of strange scent, but it does a good job of covering up odor in a doggy diaper pail of wet wraps. The plastic holder is kind of flimsy and I've had it pop open a couple times and drop the scent packet into the wet diapers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good fit for my trash compactor
*by R***C on September 23, 2026*

The holder was a good fit for my whirlpool trash compactor. Helps to make the garbage smell sweet.
