I thought it would be weak because it was inexpensive so the first time I made it I added extra coffee. Big mistake! It is not a weak coffee. It is, in fact, a medium to French roast with a very smooth flavor. No bitterness. There is a subtle hint of chocolate so don't expect a big cocoa flavor. It's not there. The grains are small enough that I can use it in my coffeemaker and use it in my espresso machine. It made an excellent Latte. I highly recommend this recommend this coffee. My go to coffee is Starbucks Sumatra. It is not overpowering and has more of a hint of blueberry.
