When these substances come into contact with calcium carbonate in the stone, they can cause etching - unsightly water rings or dull marks on the surface. What restores the shine and removes the damage? Majestic Etch Remover is the solution for restoring marble and other calcite-based stone surfaces to their original luster. With its ability to remove light etching with ease, it's a must-have for anyone looking to maintain the beauty of their marble. For those deeper etches, simply wet-sand the area with fine grit (400g or 600g) before using the Etch Remover to achieve a flawless finish. Please keep in mind, while the Etch Remover is an effective solution, it may not be able to remove all types of deep etching. Trust the experts, and try Majestic Etch Remover for stunning, polished marble surfaces. Procedure To confirm the results and procedure, start by setting up a test area. Once you're ready, follow these steps Wet the etched area with clean water. Wet a soft cloth with either cotton or microfiber. Make sure the Etch Remover is well-mixed. Apply 1/2 teaspoon of Etch Remover to the spot. Using the dampened cloth, rub the Etch Remover in a circular motion over the etched area for at least 90 seconds. Pull back the solution with a squeegee or simply remove and rinse. Evaluate the area and if it looks acceptable, remove all residue with water and a clean cloth. If the area looks better but not sufficent, repeat the process. If the area looks shinier but still has a deep etch, sanding may be required prior to using the Etch Remover. Troubleshooting To remove a dull spot on your marble, limestone, or calcite-based material, use Etch Remover. If the etch is still noticeably visible, try honing or sanding the spot with 400-grit wet sandpaper. Also, confirm if your stone is calcite-based by performing an acid and/or scratch test. Green marble is not marble, it is serpentine. Granite will not fizz or scratch, and true quartzite is similar to granite. Realizing that to have any success, this would take a lot of elbow grease. So, taking the advice of some reviewers I bought a bag of small 2” buffing pads that I could attach to my drill. I worked on small areas at a time, and to my surprise the stain was disappearing. After a couple hours, the stain was nearly gone. I plan to give it another going over to completely eradicate every trace of the stain. I wish that I had thought to take pictures to show the remarkable difference that this etch remover made. I also learned during this process that I should be using a neutral pH floor cleaner.

I am too embarrassed to explain how this happened, but a full jar of dill pickle relish fell and broke on my Travertine tile kitchen floor. This flooring came with the condo when I bought it and I’ve never really taken good care of the floor in the10 years that I’ve lived here. I’ve never resealed the Travertine and I’ve been using the wrong floor cleaner all along. Needless to say, after cleaning up all the relish and the glass shards, I was left with a fairly large stain on my floor. With low expectations, I bought this etch remover and read all the reviews. Realizing that to have any success, this would take a lot of elbow grease. So, taking the advice of some reviewers I bought a bag of small 2” buffing pads that I could attach to my drill. I worked on small areas at a time, and to my surprise the stain was disappearing. After a couple hours, the stain was nearly gone. I plan to give it another going over to completely eradicate every trace of the stain. I wish that I had thought to take pictures to show the remarkable difference that this etch remover made. I also learned during this process that I should be using a neutral pH floor cleaner.

### ⭐ WARNING: Not safe for dark or black marble — contains undisclosed oxalic acid

I purchased this product to treat light etch marks on my black marble (Nero Marquina) coffee table. Neither the packaging nor the instructions disclose that this product contains oxalic acid — a bleaching agent that lightens stone. There is also no warning that this product is not suitable for dark or black marble. The result: my table was severely and visibly damaged. The oxalic acid lightened the surface of my black marble, creating discoloration that far exceeded the original etch marks I was trying to fix. I am now working with a professional stone restoration company to repair the damage. I do not doubt this product may work on white or light-colored marble. But the complete absence of any warning about oxalic acid content, or any guidance excluding dark stones, is a serious problem. Consumers deserve to know what chemicals they are applying to expensive natural stone surfaces. If you have dark, black, or heavily pigmented marble — do not use this product. I would strongly urge the manufacturer to update their labeling and instructions immediately. You can see the before and after within my photos. My table went from polished to matte/uneven honed.
