There are tons of these cables, and the quality of their XLR to USB audio translation is hard to validate. It does seem odd to use a $15 mic with a $120 audio interface, but it is a really good option, and you can start with the cheap XLR to USB audio cable and step up later if needed. The audio interface is the only way to get direct monitoring of the microphone, which is very useful. You might also consider the much more expensive audio-technica atr2100x-usb microphone that has both XLR for use with an XLR to USB audio interface, but it also has a built in USB audio output as well as monitoring, so you can use it without the need for an additional $120 audio interface, but also upgrade to the audio interface option later if desired. I bought a TASCAM US-2x2 USB audio interface to use with this microphone and it worked well until it died in less than a year and it turns out the companies warranty is terrible, so I am going to try the cheap XLR to USB cable as well as the audio-technica atr2100x-usb as an alternative to buying Focusrite Scarlett Solo to replace the TASCAM US-2x2 interface.
