It's not as bitter as some of the other roasted types & is very palatable. There definitely is a bitterness to it, & it doesn't taste like traditional green or black tea. I love that it's grown here on the east coast of the U.S. in a sustainable way & that unlike black or green teas, it doesn't make my heart race or my stomach hurt. The fact that it's loaded with antioxidants & other healthy substances seals the deal for me. Yaupon Brothers' packaging is beautiful (I'll probably use the empty box as a pencil holder), but I'd prefer cheaper packaging & a lower cost.
