The plastic suspension rod also makes it a bit bulkier to shove in my diaper bag since it won't fold nicely. The soft flowy-ness of this scarf appealed to me and it looks a bit more sophisticated than your typical apron-type cover, so I thought I'd give it a shot.However, I ended up returning it after a few attempts at using it because it just didn't serve its primary purpose (keeping me covered) very well. My baby sometimes needs help getting a latch and sometimes I just want to look at him while he eats. To do that, you have to pull back the edge of the scarf so you can see your baby. Because of how the scarf lays across your body, there's no way to peek at baby from above (like you can with the Boppy and other covers that have plastic suspension rods around the neck), so you have to peek by pulling aside the scarf a little. The drawback of that, of course, is that it exposes your breast from the side, which is precisely what I don't want to happen when I'm using a nursing cover. I tried a variety of ways of looking at my baby in a way that wouldn't expose any skin, but it just wouldn't work. I'm going back to the Boppy cover simply for that reason, even though I'm not 100% happy with the Boppy either. I can live with stiff fabric and bulkiness if it keeps me totally covered and gives my baby a little extra breathing room.One other quibble...The idea behind this being a scarf is that you can just wear it and turn it into a nursing cover as needed. Ok...but what if I don't want to wear a scarf all day, every day? It gets up past 100 degrees in the spring and summer where I live...the idea of wearing a scarf while outside with my baby in heat like that just makes me want to puke. So in reality it got shoved into my diaper bag, thus defeating the point of it being a scarf. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great scarf whether or not you're a nursing mom *by S***K on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on February 21, 2015* I love this scarf. I have only used it a few times for a nursing cover. I nurse my babies everywhere and rely on nursing tanks under my shirts for coverage. I got this for those times (church, etc) when I need a little extra coverage. I love the way it looks and have just been wearing it as a scarf.The scarf is a single layer of fabric with serged edges, and the seam to attach the ends is clean with no raw edges. Other reviewers have noted this is a simple, no frills item which is belied by the price tag. However, it drapes beautifully and launders like a champ, with no awkward bunching or shrinking, which I have experienced with other (etsy, non-nursing cover) scarves.The biggest con for me, other than the price tag, is that I have found it a little hard to use gracefully as a nursing cover. Part of this is probably that I don't usually use a nursing cover. I think with a little practice it would probably be a smooth and easy process.In short, the scarf gets four stars for being overpriced, but otherwise, is a great find. It looks good and provides a lot of coverage without a lot of bulk. It is the cutest fabric. I agree with other reviews that it is a bummer the grey chevron print I got is only on one side. But I do disagree with the reviews that said it isn't jersey. At least the one I received is. It's not the stretchiest jersey fabric but it is jersey and very soft, even the side with the print on it.I gave it three stars because when this is used to nurse you put one side over the shoulder you are nursing on and let the other side hang. The side that hangs totally gives anyone who is looking a nice view if you aren't proactively holding it against your skin which makes you have to use your free hand unlike the bib covers that allow you to have one hand free. Also, I'm not the smallest person 5'7 125, and it does seem like my 3 week old could start stretching it in a few months, the product could use more fabric.I don't like the bib covers and nurse in public a lot so I haven't decided yet if I will be returning this or not.
