This is actually the standard 180x90x45cm version, the 8 x 90cm uprights are replaced with 8 x 75cm uprights which gives I final height of 150cm **Q: Are the shelves mould proof?** A: Carrying a certain amount of water content in it, wood is pliable and easily influenced by the weather. It swells up in damp conditions and shrinks when the air dries out. Keeping in mind this characteristic, wood needs to be treated before use so it does not get warped. Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is no different. It is advisable to protect your MDF decks from moisture exposure. To prepare your decks apply two coats (with a drying period between each) of Cuprinol’s Ultimate Garden Wood Preserver using a 3/8-inch roller. Use a paintbrush to paint the corners and edges for a neat, even finish. With that done, your decks are ready for use. However, it is important to note that these steps will make the MDF moisture-resistant, not waterproof, and therefore, can still become swollen or mouldy under cold, wet climate conditions. To prevent that from happening, a certain environment should be created. The places where the shelves are installed need to have a proper ventilation system to dispel any lingering moisture. All though time-consuming, these measure will save you a lot of time, money and repair in the long run. And the end result?
