Review: SOLID budget case - You literally won't find a better case at this price point. Absolutely terrific value. It's not much bigger than the case I replaced, which was about the same price when I bought it 10 months ago, but everything is just structured better, and the metal doesn't feel super cheap. There's more room for a bigger graphics card (340mm as opposed to my last case's max of 280mm), so there's plenty of space for upgrades. Cable management was a breeze with the abundance of holes and openings for cables to go to all the right places on my motherboard. Also, there's plenty of space on the rear side of the case for cable management, with more than enough cable tie points. The PSU shroud is nice and roomy as well, with an included hard drive bay tucked inside, which I appreciate, as my last case did not include one. The shroud also allows for even better cable management, especially if you're using a non-modular PSU with extra cables that you don't need. I just bundled them up and zip tied them together and tucked them away, allowing my case to stay fairly clean and open for maximum airflow, while also not making me worry if I would be able to get my side panel back on without a fight. The swiveling tempered-glass side panel that is fully removeable is a nice touch. With the mesh front panel, bottom and top vents (with dust filters; the top filter being magnetic), and rear exhaust, the case feels practically open for lots of air flow. As far as noise level, as with any mostly-open, high-volume airflow case, it strongly depends on your setup. With room for up to eight (8) 120mm case fans, or six (6) 120mm fans and two (2) 140mm fans (top vent), there's lots of room for efficient cooling. But if you're like me, you don't care too much about the noise, as you tend to tune it out when you're immersed in an intense gaming session. So, I have my GPU switched to performance mode, and my case fans are set to keep things nice and chilly, so it can get a bit noisy at times, but again, nothing that really bothers me too much. If you have a dual-BIOS GPU set to quiet mode, and have your fans fine-tuned to perform at maximum efficiency with minimal noise, the openness of the case, while creating the possibility for more noise exposure, also allows for plenty of airflow for efficient cooling, allowing your fans to keep things moving at a nice, low dB. Overall, it's a solid case. As stated at the beginning, you won't find a better value case for the price.
Review: Inexpensive - Every case in this price range will have some frustrating features. I'll get to those later. I'm moving a motherboard with CPU and cooler attached from another case to this one. I always install the CPU, tower cooler, memory, and m.2 drives before I put the motherboard in the case anyway. In the past few weeks, I've assembled, disassembled and reconfigured 4 PCs at least 3 times -- just for fun. Your experience may vary. First, there's plenty of room around the sides of an ATX motherboard to get to connections, such as the CPU connection from the PSU on the top back corner, which I've had issues with on other cases. There's plenty of room for longer graphics cards. There's plenty of room for a conventional CPU cooler. Typically, MB screws along the top edge require a long screwdriver if a conventional "tower" cooler is already mounted. This case is no different. I like that the PSU and HDDs are in a compartment at the bottom such that all of the cables are inside the back of the case. I like the magnetic latches for the door, and that it can easily be lifted off the hinges when open. The case metal is rather thin, and bends easily, but that's not unexpected at this price level. It's also pretty easy to bend back for the same reason. It's supposed to take two 140mm fans in the top of the case, but I was only able to fit one 140mm and one 120mm fan in the top, because the CPU power connector interferes with mounting a top rear 140mm fan. It may be difficult to mount a 140mm cooler for the same reason. There are 180-degree adapters that would help with that, but I don't like using more connections than necessary. It would be nice if the HDD mounting bracket had some way to isolate the HDDs from the thin metal. I haven't gotten to the point of turning this on, but I'm sure the noise from the two 10TB WD Red Pro drives will transfer to the case and resonate. They're screwed directly to the thin sheet metal bracket, and it attaches directly to the thin sheet metal case. I believe I can get a dual drive isolator and use that in place of the mount provided. I may do that later if it's too annoying. I also prefer to mount fans using rubber/silicone isolators instead of screws, and it is possible to do that with the three front fans and the rear fan. There are slots instead of holes for mounting fans, and I don't feel that they're necessary. The rubber mounts I'm using might work their way back out of the slots on top, so I used screws. If you want a really quiet case, you'll have to buy a more expensive case than this. It's that simple. I'll update this once it's up and running, but I expect the case will amplify vibrations. It certainly won't dampen them. I'll also add finer screens to the front fans. The grill in the front of the case is sufficient, but it's simple enough to add better ones. At $54, this was a very inexpensive case. The issues are minor for the price. The airflow appears to be sufficient. It has a subdued appearance. It's not flashy, but lends itself well to my purpose. I bought two of these to build matching gaming PCs for my wife and I to use in the living room. This case fits the bill for that, without breaking the bank.

You literally won't find a better case at this price point. Absolutely terrific value. It's not much bigger than the case I replaced, which was about the same price when I bought it 10 months ago, but everything is just structured better, and the metal doesn't feel super cheap. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price point: Budget-friendly

I've had the Dark Rock EC2 case for a few weeks now, and overall it's been a great upgrade. Cable management was surprisingly painless thanks to the generous space behind the motherboard tray and the well-placed routing channels. Everything tucked away neatly without me having to fight the case. Airflow is where this case really shines. With the included fans running at a moderate speed, my temps dropped noticeably compared to my old case — my CPU and GPU are both running several degrees cooler under load. The mesh front panel does a great job pulling in air without letting dust bunnies take over (the included dust filters are a nice touch and easy to pop out and clean). I also appreciate the aesthetic — it's clean and understated rather than over-the-top, with just enough tempered glass to show off the build without feeling like a light show. Fits full-size GPUs and standard ATX motherboards without any tight squeezes. My main criticism is the side panels — they feel a bit thin and have some flex to them, especially compared to the rest of the build. It's not a dealbreaker, but I'd have liked a bit more rigidity there, particularly on the glass panel side. Overall, this case offers great value, solid thermals, and a clean design, even if the panels aren't the most robust part of the build. Would still buy again.
