I had it on for about 1/2 hour, and the fish were constantly freaking out. Also, I noticed the water had become more cloudy with lots of micro bubbles (Ozone?). I turned it off to calms the fish and just went back to depending on the HOB filter. Well, that was Friday, and watching the tank over the past couple days wondering what to do it has progressively gotten clearer like magic. Today (Sunday night) the water is crystal clear!! I think that in the 1/2 hour this filter ran, the UV light directly sterilized or added enough Ozone to completely kill the algae. Amazing!
