I remove mine and use it when I need to! I don’t recommend you Leave it out! **Q: Can this unit be mounted upside down? As in, to the underside of an over-bed truck rack? I assume the water is fed by gravity via the valve so... no?** A: No you can’t mount it upside down! The water filler if filled by hand needs to be on top. **Q: How hot does the water get?** A: Don't listen to the "hot as outside" comment. This thing can get way hotter than just the outside temp. Enough to put you in the hospital if not used carefully. Depends on the ambient temperature and sun exposure combination. Ex: in the summer in the sun you could probably burn the skin right off of you, in the winter in the sun you would probably get it up to a mild warmth.
