Surprised to find this thing which weighs so little that I am willing to carry it even though I've been reducing the weight I carry every year for the past decade.PRO: Consistently works to inflate and deflate my ThermaRest NeoAir on three-night trips, and quickly; would probably last longer but I have not tested that. Deflating is a surprisingly valuable bonus. FlexTail-branded CR123A Lithium battery 650 mAh nominal 3.7V max charge 4.2v, has its own USB-C charging port, and is available on amazon. 1.2 oz! CON (minor): the fine aluminum-alloy threads that screw the cap on/off to release the battery, appear susceptible to cross-threading or damage from grit. The on-off switch sometimes requires mutiple pushes (seems to like double-click), and sometimes sticks in the "in" position; it is supposed to always pop back out, but someimes requires some diddling around to release it. This model only available in black (newer models available in orange) making it hard to find sometimes; I added an orange marking tape and linked the silicon(?) adapter to the supplied lanyard to make it harder to lose. It was not obvious that I can slip the silicon-ish adapter over either end to reverse flow, and that it fits over the lanyard connector without materially affecting pressure/suction. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Update *by on Reviewed in the United States May 12, 2025* I wrote the review below, giving one star, because the first one I received did not work at all. After I posted this review Flextail contacted me through Amazon offering a refund. I asked for a replacement pump and they sent it out within a few days. The new one works great and I was impressed by the customer service.This thing is junk. I purchased it in January, but did not get a chance to use it until this past week. Just before I went out I tried it out and it would not turn on. I charged the battery and then it came on once. On my trip it would not turn on at all. I tried turning the battery around and no luck. Fortunately it does not weigh much, but still wasted space in my backpack. ### ⭐ Not reliable - ZERO pump = ZERO confidence *by on Reviewed in the United States April 21, 2025* 2ND EDIT: Since the replacement batteries didn't work, I contacted the company and they replied the next day requesting a short video of the problem. I sent one immediately but then had to ping them twice before they responded - they offered me a full refund or a replacement. I chose the replacement hoping that I had just received a stray bad pump before. It arrived today and same problem. It was shipped with the battery installed so I charged it fully and even tried one of the other replacement batteries I had purchased for the original pump. Still the pump would not run. At this point the ZERO pump offers ZERO confidence and deserves ZERO stars. I have contacted the company and volunteered to ship back both pumps at their expense in exchange for a full refund of the original purchase.EDIT: I ordered replacement batteries, RCR123A with the built-in charge port similar to the original battery - it was a 2-pack. I did not expect the batteries to be charged but they were slightly longer (maybe 1mm) so I put one in to make sure they fit, and the pump ran. I pressed the switch again, nothing. I put the other battery on the charger until it turned green, put it in the pump, nothing. So I put the first battery back in - nothing. Isn't this the definition of insanity? Expecting a different result??? LOL. Next step... I'm calling the company to see what they suggest. I love this pump when it works but still not confident enough in its reliability to depend on it in the backcounty. I just returned from a 3 day trip with a friend who also has one but hasn't had it long. She wisely had removed the battery when storing but did comment that it didn't seem as strong as when she first got it.I've had mine a little less than a year and it no longer works. It was great in the beginning - the adapters allowed me to use with my Nemo air pad and my Exped foam mattress. I'd used it maybe 4-5 times, then one time, it wouldn't come on. I thought maybe it had accidentally come on in my pack (you'd think I would have heard it) and run down my battery. I recharged it, put the battery back in and hit the switch. It ran, I turned it off, hit the switch again - nothing. Recharged the battery again, repeated with same result. Now it won't come on at all. I'm going to try a new battery but it could be the switch.
