Great weather station
I couldn’t be happier with the Ambient Weather WS-1965 WiFi Weather Station—it’s become part of my daily routine. Setup was straightforward, and within minutes I had accurate, real-time data right from my backyard. The display is bright and easy to read, and it tracks everything I need—temperature, humidity, wind, and rainfall—with impressive accuracy for the price. For an entry-level station, it really delivers reliable performance and solid value. What really sets this apart is the WiFi connectivity. Being able to monitor conditions remotely from my phone is incredibly convenient, especially during storms or when I’m away from home. The integration with Weather Underground is a huge bonus—I love being able to share my data and compare it with nearby stations in real time. The sensor array has been dependable, and updates come in frequently enough to feel truly “live.” It’s clear Ambient Weather put thought into making this both user-friendly and functional. If you’re looking for an affordable, accurate weather station with remote monitoring and Weather Underground support, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

they seem to want a subscription if you want to access the graphs
works perfectly when you realise that the "rain" defaults to hour rate which is "rain fall in mm in last ten minutes x 6" ping the rain button on the back to "day" and rain works perfectly. However the graphs are only for about 12 hours from approx 7 in the morning, with no horizontal scroll bar. Helpline suggests an annual subscription(!) to give greater access to graphical controls. So good weather station, good records online on various tabs, including daily, weekly, monthly, annual rainfall. But 24 hour graphs seem to need a subscription. You have been warned. But if you only want to check your daily (awake) weather it is great.

Great Instrument... But Not Toaster
Just got my new WS-1965 up and going. So far, so good. I can't yet speak to how well it will perform and hold up over time but my first impressions are very positive. But prospective buyers need to know that this gizmo is decidedly not a toaster. This is a serious instrument for people who are not intimated by modern digital technology. You're not going to take it out of the box, plug it in, and sit back. Your first clue is that the weather station comes with a 45 page instruction manual - a manual that, IMO, could use some editing for clarity and completeness. At times, it can be sometimes be dense and obscure. I was only able to bridge some of missing links because I had prior experience setting up other devices and apps on my internet of things. At this point, I guess I only have two specific complaints. The first is that the outdoor unit needs to be level in order to measure rainfall accurately. The problem is that the pole it is mounted to needs to be perfectly plumb. That was quite a challenge for me. It would be helpful if Ambient would make and sell a pole-mounted accessory that the unit could be attached to for accurate level adjustment. The next issue is with the klugey internet connectivity and interface. This is where better user guide editing would be helpful. For most of the things I've added to my internet, almost all device settings are made via the app. Not so here. You need to first put the station in discovery mode, find its network on your PC/phone/device, open a browser, and then log onto the station with its IP address in order to add it to your home network and to change settings and calibrations. Then there other things that have to be changed on the Ambient app such as the station name and location. This the main reason why the WS-1965 is not a toaster. There are also a few other little annoying things that I would like changed but are too esoteric for this review. They are not show-stoppers. Overall, I can recommend the WS-1965.
