For all four chairs, this totals roughly 1,200 square inches of upholstery. With a single 500 ml bottle, however, I only managed—just—to cover three chairs, around 900 square inches. I’ve therefore had to order more in order to finish the fourth chair. When sprayed on to the recommended “dampened” state, I was initially worried that the product might permanently darken the fabric. Fortunately, once it had dried naturally, the original shade appeared unchanged (although I’ve not yet checked this in natural daylight). Application seems to work as described. The main issue is simply coverage. One 500 ml bottle doesn’t go far. Had I noticed the 5-litre option beforehand, I would definitely have chosen that, as it’s far more economical. Regarding water and stain protection, I can’t yet comment. I’m not willing to deliberately test spills on my chairs, so this will be a matter of long-term trust. It's already been busy keeping my rug clean of spills and the lack of chemical smell when it's applied is a real bonus!
