All old MAC between 2013 to 2015 - uses 12 + 16 pin and it will not fit into these enclosures.. There is a convertor for those (old apple 12+16 to sata converter) and that can be used. **Q: Is there any indicator?** A: Yep there is a small blue led **Q: Does it supports gen4 nvme ssd** A: All most all pcie gen 4 device is backward compatibil , so a pcie gen 4 device connected to pcie gen 3 slot then it will work at gen 3 speed , this enclosure data transfer speed depends on your uab port generation **Q: What material is the body made of? What chip controller is used?** A: Metal body ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just go for it 👍 *by S***H on 19 July 2026* I recently purchased the PIBOX India NVMe M.2 SSD Enclosure, and it exceeded my expectations. Here’s a detailed look at its strengths and weaknesses: #### Pros: 1. **Durable Metal Outer Shell:** The enclosure’s metal construction is not just for durability but also plays a crucial role in heat dissipation, ensuring your SSD stays cool even during intense use. 2. **High-Speed Cables Included:** PiBox goes the extra mile by providing two high-speed cables in the box – a Type-C to Type-C and a Type-A to Type-C. This versatility means you’re ready to connect to a wide range of devices right out of the box. 3. **Toolless SSD Installation:** One of the standout features is the toolless design, which makes installing your SSD a breeze. No more fumbling with tiny screws or specialized tools – just click it in and go. 4. **High-Quality Carrying Case:** The inclusion of a high-quality carrying case is a nice touch, adding an extra layer of protection when you’re on the move. 5. **Advertised Speed Performance:** True to its claims, the speed performance is exactly as advertised. This ensures you get the fast data transfer rates you expect from an M.2 SSD enclosure. #### Cons: 1. **Cheap Inner Plastic:** While the outer shell is impressive, the inner plastic feels somewhat flimsy. The plastic clamp, in particular, doesn’t hold the PCB securely in place, which can be a concern. 2. **Low-Quality SSD Retention Button:** The tiny plastic button meant to keep the SSD in place also feels cheap and less reliable, which could impact the longevity of the enclosure. 3. **Overdone Branding and Labels:** The branding and labels on the enclosure are a bit over the top. A more subtle approach would have been appreciated and would contribute to a more professional look. #### Conclusion: Despite a few drawbacks, the PiBox M.2 SSD Enclosure still stands out as a fantastic value for money. Its robust metal construction, ease of installation, and inclusion of high-speed cables make it a highly recommended choice for anyone in need of a reliable SSD enclosure. With a bit of refinement in the inner materials and branding, this product could easily become a top-tier option in its category. ## Frequently Bought Together - NVME M2 Enclosure, PiBOX India NVMe SSD Enclosure - USB 3.2 10Gbps, Tool-Free M.2 NVMe Case, PCI-E NVMe Reader, USB-C, Supports M & B&M Keys, 2230/2242/2260/2280 SSDs, REALTEK RTL9210 Chipset - Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 5000MB/s - CT1000P3PSSD8 - Crucial P3 1TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s - CT1000P3SSD8 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co/products/563347130-nvme-m2-m-2-tool-free-ssd-enclosure-case-usb](https://www.desertcart.co/products/563347130-nvme-m2-m-2-tool-free-ssd-enclosure-case-usb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Colombia* *Store origin: CO* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
