I set channels 4 through 1, respectively, to 5, 12, 30, and 45 minutes. That seems to be a good combination of generic times for various reasons. Also, if you unplug the unit, the programmed in times are retained in memory. So, you don't have to completely reset the thing after a power outage or if you have to unplug it for some reason. **Q: How long can each timer run for** A: You can set it up to 99 hours and 59 minutes.
