The Super Sticky Notes I received has the adhesive strip on the same side on each leaf. I know what you mean by the concertina effect,I did buy them once from a local shop and the post-it notes from there had the concertina effect and it really wasn’t what I wanted.I hope this helps you.

I tried all the other sticky note types because these are a bit more expensive. But wow Post Its are SO MUCH BETTER. They stick and don't fall off, leave no residue. Don't curl much. Just wonderful.
