    Everything You Wanted From An Adaptation Of 1984, and More.

Every bit as provocative and disturbing as an adaptation of George Orwell’s magnum opus ought to be.It’s relatively faithful to the book- keeping Winston’s narrative alive, while building on the themes to make it more contemporary.Audiences of the London premiere found it disorienting and graphic... and rightfully so! The plot can be hard to keep up with unless you’re somewhat familiar with the story. There are also a couple scenes that would be hard to watch, let alone stage. It would be a fun challenge for a director.Duncan Macmillan’s adaptation of 1984 left me chilled to the bone. I could not recommend more.

A must read for anyone who values their freedom from tyranny. The struggle between those who deceive to control and the people and the planet is real and will always be. The book is one of many wake up calls to what can happen and what has happened so often in the past. It’s just simply the nature of man!

It helps to have read to book before reading or seeing the play, to notice many of the subtle references to events in the book that the play doesn't have opportunity to fully develop.
