If you want your child to take an interest in the world around them then take a look at all the books in the series. I have also purchased 'Weather', 'The Romans', and 'London', and my son loves all of them. If your child is also learning to read by themselves, then these are also suitable. The facts are clear and to the point. The pictures are fascinating. This book has prompted lots of online research, my son wanted to know more about Pompeii and we have located where all of the volcanoes featured, are on his world map in his bedroom. He has decided when he grows up he wants to be a Volcanologist!
