## Questions & Answers

**Q: Put one coat over damp patch, 2 days later added 2nd coat, now 2 days later all the sealant has cracked - why?**
A: Polycell Damp Seal Paint has been specially formulated to seal patches of penetrating damp on interior walls and ceilings in just one coat, preventing them from showing through and spoiling decorations. Cracking tends to happen if the product has not dried out.

**Q: Is it ok to plaster\skim over the treated area?**
A: My artexed ceilings were recently plaster-skimmed. The contractor recommended that I first coat a stain from a plumbing leak with "stain-block". Before skimming the ceilings, he scraped the texture from the artex and then applied a solution of PVA adhesive (it may have been Uni-bond). Hence the plaster skim was applied over the PVA solution which was over the stain-block. The stain has not re-appeared.

**Q: Can i put this on painted walls?**
A: In theory you can. Please be very careful though, as when I used it I ended up with a far worse situation than I had started with. To begin with, I applied one coat of damp seal on a painted wall, but it didnt work, and the bubbles in the paint kept coming back. Eventually I resorted to six coats of damp seal on a wide area of wall, not just the affected area,allowing a couple of days between each coat, followed by three coats of emulsion, and it still didnt work. On the contrary, the damage just kept getting worse. I might just have been unlucky, but please think very carefully before wasting your hard earned cash on this completely useless product!

**Q: Can i apply damp seal to the spot which has water stain only, instead of applying damp seal to the full wall?**
A: Yes you can. what I would do is dry the spot with a hair dryer then lightly rub it off with fine sandpaper then apply dampseal give it a couple of coats , let it dry between coats
