What do the numbers mean?** A: They refer to the size of the grit, or the roughness. So for fingernails you'd want a very small number, a fine grit, like 1 or 2. For calluses on the hands, probably #5, but calluses on feet need an even rougher texture, such as #11. **Q: what is the diamond particle size (microns) on the coarce and medium?** A: The only info I can see is #11. But, I do love this. It works very well without being too abrasive. **Q: What is the Country of origin?** A: Probably China. **Q: What is the handle made of? Can these be sterilized or autoclaved?** A: the foot buffer is a high quality plastic but the handle is wrapped with a flexible and "grippable" cover. I would not recommend autoclaving or sterilizing. I clean mine with hot water on the buffer side only.
