Prior to this purchase I was using OXO's own apple corer. However I often found that you could partially miss the core and cut in to the apple if the corer wasn't positioned completely straight thus wasting time, effort and apple (not to mention, you would still need to divide the cored apple). Then I came across this apple divider by OXO and I have so far been impressed. Soon after delivery, I used this apple divider to core and divide 10 Granny Smith apples for use in a home-made apple pie. Every single apple was cored and divided swiftly and precisely, saving me a lot of time. You can tell that this divider has good build quality and has been designed for ease-of-use. The metallic blades on this divider aren't particularly sharp, yet they effortlessly slice through apples like a knife through butter. I was kicking myself for buying a corer and not buying this (2-in-1) divider in the first place! Would recommend to bakers as well anyone whose diet includes eating apples regularly.
